Installation, Configuration, and Modding

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 12:06 am

Happy 2012 everyone! Just wanted to stop by and post a few tutorials I've put together, covering installation of the game from disk, configuration of game, video settings, and tweaks, and an introduction to modding using Wrye Bash and Bain archives to manage mods.

I hope they prove helpful! Also, please post any questions or comments either on the articles themselves or the linked forum threads (you'll have to sign up for a free account), so others reading them might see if a question they have has already been answered.

The last link also has a load order list of all the mods I currently use, along with links to their download pages. I have also linked to a text file which lists every specific file from each of these mods (and their path) that I have kept in my custom Bain archives. This is particularly helpful when setting up landscape textures, as I have created one custom Bain archive for those textures from both Landscape Texture Pack and Serious HD Retexture Landscape I have opted to use.

Enjoy!

Of course, I am sure they do! This is obviously intended for those who might need some help. With as many hits a day as these forums receive, I'm certain some might find it helpful. Also, even if you are already familiar with modding, the links and load order on the last page might still prove useful.

But by all means, if you are confident in your own setup, feel free to simply move on.

Added a new link in the modding tutorial for http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1704/ (what an amazing mod.)

Here's some screenshot of the new look, with the listed mods installed:
