I can't help feeling ripped off at the moment.

Let me clarify my position. I am in the Netherlands and I know that New Vegas isn't supposed to be available to me or anybody else at the moment.

However, I have in my possession the game disk of Fallout: New Vegas, and as everyone might suspect, eager to start playing the game.

The point is, Steam won't let me. That's right, I can't play the game because Steam says it hasn't been released yet, you can activate the game, but you can't install it.
Steam gives me the message The game hasn't been released yet, and therefor the game cannot be installed.

I have in my posession a physical, legally obtained, original copy of Fallout New Vegas and I can't play it. Basically I don't get what I've paid for.
I can bring up some, but very little, understanding for this. The thing that stings/hurts and seriously pisses me off is that fact that two of my friends, who own a XBox 360 and a PS3 respectively, also have their hands on a copy for their respective systems and CAN play the damn game. Because the consoles do not have such things as steam telling them what they can or cannot play.

Because of this release I asked today (I knew I was getting my hands on a copy early) and tomorrow off from work. Since steam unlocks FNV Europe in about 15-16 hours I basically got this day of for nothing. Instead of two days I know am left with one (and spare hours after that of course) and have to deal with the fact that my friends can play it, and I can just because I'm a PC user.

To be honest, I feel very, very ripped off. Not because it's a bad game not worth it's money, just because I can't play a game I just frigging paid 50 euro's for.

If none of the systems were able to play the game, I would be ok with it. Now I feel screwed because I'm a PC user and not a console user. Not to mention the loss of a day of that I could have taken off another day to actually spend it doing something I like doing instead of being pissed off and ranting on a messageboard.

Since it's a franchise trough the entire country that has been selling the game since yesterday I have the feeling I'm not the only one in this situation. Beth, I beg thee. Let steam allow people that have a physical copy to install and play their game. Just as microsoft and sony are allowing their users to.

And before anyone starts: No, I'm not going to watch my friends play and spoil the game I'm supposed to be playing right now!
