BIG MISTAKE
At 9:41 pm last night, I commenced the installation process, it is now 7:10 am the next morning, and I am at 55% installed.
I have installed 3,961.9 GB (yes GB) of data since last night, and I need to get to 6,919.4 GB. At this rate, its going to be another 9 hours to finish the install, making for a sum total of 18 hours to install New Vegas. I don't know why, but it doesn't seem like it took that long when I first installed a couple of weeks ago, but I must admit, I threw it in and started the install and went to bed that day, and the game was ready to play the next morning, so I can't say for sure what happened there.
What, if anything, am I doing wrong here?? I may be a computer idiot, but that seems a little excessive to me to install a game. I bought the game from a local store for $90, and now with approximetly 90% of this months bytes used up, thats added another $80 to my cost.
I mean I own the game, I got the disc and everything, so why does NV have to install from the net, and not off the disc? Is the disc just an expensive CD key type thing, or am I just an idiot and doing something wrong? Shouldn't the game just install off the Disc? I thought that was the idea, but after 6 hours of waiting, I found I could take the disc out of the driver, stick another disc in and play another game while I was waiting for this one to install, and the game kept installing.
Is there some way that I missed to install the game off the cd or what, as that makes the most sense to me, and not having to wait 18 hours for a 7 GB download off the net.
For this install, I just put the CD in the drive, pushed it in, and the auto set up pop up came up, and I clicked install NV.
Please help??
