i just installed skyrim but it wont let me play with out updating but im currently on a bandwidth restriction so is their a way around the update

Unless you can go into offline mode in Steam, and cancel the auto-update, I don't think there is.

In my experience, once a game starts updating via Steam, it has to complete updating before you can play it.

I would suggest that for future games, you disable auto-update to avoid this.

You can go offline in Steam, there's a setting for that.
But with Steam offline, idk if you can play the game if the download has already started.
