Just have to say, it's kind of a cop out for anyone on this post complaining of not having an Internet connection. Everyone knows SOMEONE that has an Internet connection. We're talking about an xbox. It's practically the size of a laptop. It's not crazy for someone to unplug the two wires on their xbox, stuff it in a knapsack, and use a friends Internet for 30minutes. I'm just saying...it's 2010, just posting on this forum is evidence that people have some tech know how.
I had my own issues with the game, but it starts to sound like some bleeding heart plea by a defense attorney to get the jury to empathize with us poor lowly gamers. Get real! Fallout is a pretty advanced game in itself (bugs/glitches/crashes aside) but I'm tired of hearing people exaggerate their situation.
We get it, the game screwed us, it will get some form of fix, or it won't. But you can't possibly think you can be any kind of consummate gamer without ANY access to the Internet. We're not ACTUALLY living in 2250 in the Wasteland.
(which reminds me? Why are there only vertibirds for transportation (not counting the occasional ferry or one stop monorail...like two in all of the Wasteland and no other forms of transportation...noone even rides Brahmin?)

Sorry about that digression, but seriously. Keep the complaints grounded.

Unfortunately not at the moment. Just gets tiresome hearing so much irrelevant complaining opposed to focusing on legitimate game problems. And with that, I don't know if encapsulating general complaints ("F bethesda, I'm gonna play Fable" ie) is worth anything said here opposed to broader forums where people unaware of the significant problems can hear about these issues before they buy the game. It's obvious most everyone posting here has already invested the time and money.

just goes to show you how sheltered some ppl are that they think just because they have have something like the internet everyone should be able to have it..hell there are ppl around here that dont even have running water much less internet and cable tv..

I grew up on a dirt road. I'm not talking about someones gran mama I'm talking about gamers (especially those playing this game). Point being I have to imagine someone has Internet in some vicinity. They have Internet in rural tribes of Africa...though you did mention west Virginia...I heard pants are still cutting edge technology. Jk

Sure, but you have to remember that it needs to be an internet connection that's either wireless, or can be plugged into near a TV. No, most of my friends do not have internet, let alone wireless. I don't hang out with people who play video games, so they don't necessarily need it, either - it's commonplace for them to just go on campus when they need the internet. My house is just now getting cable internet, because for the past seven years, the cable company has refused to hook up our side of the road, and we've had to use Hughes (which enforces a download limit per day and is just generally slow as molasses).

There are people out there who really just don't have access to it.

Sorry, but not everywhere has internet outlets. Not everyone is as lucky as you.

I think the point is being missed here.

Where does it say on the box 'Must have internet access to play this game'? or the more pertinent 'Must have internet access to patch this game because its knackered'?
All the box refers to is 'game-content download', which i would assume to mean extra DLC.

Why should people have to rely on companies patching games post release at all?
Sure, it was common for the PC due to numerous configs, but the consoles are supposed to be relativeley identical.
Which shows that its not hardware conflicts with the games that are getting released but the games themselves that are getting released in poor condition.

Everyone without an internet connection should be allowed to get a free patch disk or fixed game free of charge from Bethesda.

No such thing as a bug free release. Every single game on the Xbox and PS3 (well, i have yet to see one anyways) has a patch at some point in its lifecycle. You need a connection to download them. This is set in stone and no amount of railing against it is going to change it.

Work internet connection at lunch time? Mobile access through a phone? Dialup that's good enough to post on a forum but too crappy to download anything because it cuts out too often? Public access at a library? Internet cafe?
