I'm playing a character who hopes to rekindle the business her family was known for back in its heyday - namely, fine horses. I intended to buy up horses from each hold and assemble a 'stable' of some kind, so I headed first for Windhelm, dropping my new mount off at Shor's Stone (where my spouse lives), and then made my way to Riften. I returned to Shor's Stone on the back of my most recent purchase only to find that my first horse was casually meandering away down the road to Windhelm. I stepped off the horse I'd just acquired and made haste to retrieve the Windhelm!horse, but as I was guiding it back to Shor's Stone my Riften!horse got the same idea and started moseying back to the stable where it was bought. Is it normal for horses to head 'home' like this? I thought that only happened if they weren't legally purchased. This problem only cropped up once I bought Riften!horse - Windhelm!horse never gave me any trouble.

I've not had multiple owned horses myself, but i'd gather that they would naturally return to the Hold you bought them from, if your at a Hold you just purchased a new horse at. if that makes sense, lol.
