I am a steam user,

With that said I aint sure if this is a steam issue or maybe this is happening to alot of people.

When I go to start the game it will say not responding, and I could do this maybe 7 times before it actually loads the game for me without an error.

Then sometimes when it finally does launch the game for me and I go to load a saved game, it will stay on the loading screen and upon hitting ctrl alt delete to get to my task manager it says FNV is not responding.

Also when I go to verify integrity of game cache which is a steam thing, it will say at the end 1 file failed to validate but will be reaquired.

Any advice or suggestons on what this is.

Well if you're playing the PC version you certainly are a Steam user, or else you'd be a pirate.

The launcher is known to be incredibly buggy and prone to crashing.

If possible, get New Vegas Script Extender, its launcher bypasses all but the bare minimum of Steam checks, and thus also the bugged launcher.

And loading hangs are also known, the recent patch did a number on memory handling.
