It's still in testing and now expected next week. I don't have the tweet, but that was the gist.

Well they just have to tell us either HERE in the forums of in the Bethesda Blog... easy as that, people will understand but if they just ignore us is the same as giving us the Finger, i dont mind to wait another month BUT DAMN! just speak to us.

I dont remember them promising a laa patch this week. I do remember them saying another patch will arrive soon, and they're also working on adding laa.

Gstaff said it at the end of the first post in the patch 1.3 pinned topic.

Have to agree about testing. We've given Bethesda so much grief about not testing Skyrim enough before launch that it's not really fair to give them grief for taking too much time to test now. Kind of "damned if you do, damned if you don't" catch-22 situation there. They just can't win. :banghead:

I'm good with the 4GB Launcher for now, and I think most who are using it are as well; so more than willing to give them time to do this right.

Later,

"We’re also planning on rolling out support for 4-Gigabyte Tuning (Large Address Aware) next week for our PC users. Stay tuned!"

Again, where in there does it say we promise a laa patch for week of the?

Planning and promising are two very different things. A concept lost with many of Beth's forum users.

He did say it. You're just a tool.

In any case, for a billion dollar corporation, you'd think Bethesda could hire ONE decent PR person. So far, they haven't.

I did read it, I also answered your question.

On December 7, Gstaff said, what you quoted. Right there in that quote, that you posted, it says "next week".

What am I missing?

What he actually said was we're planning on rolling a patch out, not that they promise a patch. Plans change, life goes on.

And to the dude who called me a tool... cheers ;)

My big issue with the BethBlog is that they will update old posts instead of just writing a new one. No one is going to see your update of an update post that is four days old. They are going to look at TODAYs post, which will probably be about some video or something, and assume that nothing new is happening at Bethesda. This is basic Communications 101 stuff, and Bethesda doesn't know it.

When everyone else in the thread is telling you you are wrong, maybe you should think about that.

It seems I'm the only one here who can read actual English. I'm sorry if you all prefer to add in your own versions as you read, but the man said planning. That means they basically decided to work on something and have a rough deadline.

The entire post implies informality.

Now if Gstaff had posted:

"Guys we promise that by close of business next week you'll have your official laa patch"

Then it would be a different story. I'm done with this post. If you're happy crying over a (laughable) broken non-promise, then go right ahead. I'm going to be a grown up, and try and help some folks with their pc issues.

Ah, I see now. I did indeed miss (misinterpret your point) that part of it.

P.S.

Everyone needs to relax. No need to get all snippy at each other. :icecream:

He's right, they didn't say that they will specifically roll out the patch this week. They said they have it planned, like many things in this industry planning=set date.
Now, I agree Bethesda should keep us in the loop, but it's their own decision. They were never as big on PR, as say, Blizzard is. It's just how they roll. I'll probably get more itchy about it when i sit down and play the game again properly, because for me it's exam period now, and i haven't played Skyrim properly for a week now.

I'd be happy if they take an extra two days to make sure the patch doesn't break anything. I was just annoyed with someone who is extremely condescending.

Oh please. I'm 40+ and not a child so please don't play petty semantics with me. I didn't come here to complain or argue so I'll leave it at that. There's just no need to get my panties in a bunch over the intricacies of "planning" over "promised" when we all know that even if they promised it then that would be no better than planning it.

Exactly - if people are jumping on gamesas as a result of them giving us information (and being quite clear that it wasn't promised, just planned), then they'll only end up not giving us information, which is a bad thing, or having to swaddle everything in massive disclaimers, which is also a bad thing.
