iTunes issue

So lately iTunes randomly decides to not let me play songs. I'll click on a song and nothing happens (no matter what song) and the only way to get it to play a song is to go into my video library and start playing a video. After that I can play songs again. If I stop a song and go back awhile later to try to play another song I have to go through this process again.

Anyone know what could be causing this? iTunes is up to date.

Well I have a new iTunes question, so I might as well add it here:

Is there a way to tell iTunes not to download a file, EVER? See I occasionally buy movies on iTunes and often they come with extras, but I don't really care for the extras. In one case the Extras file is 9.1GB! I don't want it, but every time I start iTunes it searches for purchased content and starts the download. So far 7gb has downloaded, even though I stop it and hit 'delete' every time, sometimes I forget and it downloads away. I really do not need 9gb of movie extras, I never watch them anyway. It's bad enough that it always downloads the SD version of movies in addition to the HD so now I have two versions of every movie I've bought (at least it keeps them together and you can pick SD or HD...I guess the SD version is meant for your iPhone or iPod).

Like I bought The Walking Dead season 2 pass, and with every episode it downloaded 'Inside the Walking Dead' in HD, not to mention the SD and HD version of every episode. I don't need all that extra stuff, but there it sits taking up hard drive space, and used up bandwidth. :/
