Is Jarl Idgrod Ravencrone crazy?!?!

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:17 pm

I haven't got much interaction with the woman so I decided to read some information about her.

So on http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Idgrod_Ravencrone under notes says: Ravencrone can begin personally stalking http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Falion as a result of the quest http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Falion%27s_Secret.

So according to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Falion%27s_Secret

If you choose to report him to the Jarl, she mentions a vision about it all, and says she will investigate the matter—which she does most thoroughly, resulting in her permanently following Falion.

Then on the second note says: Ravencrone also makes a brief appearance in http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Diplomatic_Immunity as a party guest to the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Thalmor embassy. If the player befriends her prior to the quest, she can assist the player in creating a distraction required to continue the quest.

Another thing that I wasn't aware of while I was active in the diplomatic immunity quest. I always thought that you had to speak with the drunk guy... but in fact she can be a distraction as well.

What exactly does she do? I tried searching it up on youtube but nothing came up. I heard that she starts yelling at the drunk guy.. is this true?

If asked to provide a distraction she says "old people can get away with a anything" and will begin ranting and raving at Razelan providing you the necessary reaction. Shes not actually crazy she just wants people to think she is.

Lady Idgrod is really cool. Is she crazy? Well, I guess that might depend on how unbalanced the viewer is.

She's one of my favorites. I found out by accident that she would help be a distraction. On my second character I became thane of her realm before heading to Solitude for the embassy mission. She approached my character and said something to the effect that it was nice to see friends. I thought her distraction was better than the drunk.

She's got these visions that no one believes, and while she believes in them she doesn't seem to at all mind people thinking she's touched. She just figures they don't understands and goes about doing her thing. But even despite her blood's deep connection with Magicka and the resulting precognition, she's far more confident and sure of herself than most of the other Jarls.

But yeah, I think the Falion thing is a glitch. Then again, there's not a whole hell of lot going on in Morthal going on aside from the vampire problem, so I guess she has the time to stalk Falion forever.

Now what's really odd about Idgrod is that she sleeps with her steward. Or maybe it's the other way around.

Her steward is her husband. Which seems odd to me since Idgrod's like 40 years older than him.

Sooo... is she robbing the cradle, or is HE robbing the grave?

Something to think about.

Shes a damn cougar if you ask me. She likes her some young stuffs as I'm pretty sure Aslfur prefer mature women with experience under their belts.

Is it JUST me or is she a Psijiic in disguise?!

Possible. She might, though, resent the implication.

She's a mystic... they all seem crazy because they know things nobody else does, they understand the nature of Nirns reality better than anyone. This is why I was sad to see mysticism go in Skyrim because I loved playing the role of the seemingly crazy mystic :P

Her daughter should be marriable, but she is not. I'm starting to think Skyrim is not only racist but class biased as well.

Considering the "time texture" - I'd be surprised if it WASN'T both.

Insanity, or at least the common perception of it is part and parcel with revelations of the truth. That's probably why people go blind and crazy from reading elder scrolls.

Idgrod is the Nancy Reagan of Jarls. She believes in visions, but is basically a sound person.

Additionally, she runs the "Just Say No to Skooma" campaign in Skyrim.

Idgrod is a fascinating lady. Her kooky personality, and of course her "abilities" make her stand out among the other Jarls. She's one of the more interesting characters out there.

And yet I made a Psijiic character anyhow, take that Bethesda lore!
