Jobs for Thieves Guild achievement

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 3:29 am

First off, i'm brand new to this site so greetings fellow skyrimians!

My question is about the Thieves Guild... Can I get the One With The Shadows achievement before completing the thieves guild's quest line? because i've been working at the jobs and i'm just wondering if i'm wasting my time...

Have a look at this http://wikigameguides.com/The_Elder_Scrolls_V_Skyrim/Achievements/One-with-the-Shadows explanation of the requirements.

Thanks for the link, but it only says that i SHOULD complete the main guild's quest... I'm just wondering if it will ruin my game if I finish the jobs before finishing the main guilds quest line. Anyways I'll just play it safe and thanks!

You need to complete the odd jobs, as they unlock four "special" jobs that need to be done to become guild master and get the achievement.
Details here:
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Thieves_Guild_%28faction%29#Improving_the_Thieves_Guild

As for finishing the jobs before finishing the main quests:
Note: If the "One With the Shadows" achievement/trophy has not unlocked after completing four special jobs, you need to speak to Brynjolf to instigate http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Under_New_Management. However, if you had also been doing the main Thieves Guild quests and had reached the point of investigating Mercer Frey/Karliah, Brynjolf will not talk to you correctly. Merely complete the main quest line to the end, which will unlock the Darkness Returns ending and then Under New Management will follow on afterwards and you can talk once more with Brynjolf. It has been said to have your Thieves Armor on you when you then talk to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Tonilia, but this stays the same. She gives you the Guild Leader Armor on top of that and then the achievement/trophy will unlock.

You're a Thief. You are a Thief in Skyrim. You are playing an RPG. Achievements... trophies... all that should be completely out of your mind. It is a given that they will be received if you simply.... do everything. That's the only trouble with this game.... everyone plays it like any other game... 'Gotta get achievement.... gotta get that trophy....'
Just relax and enjoy the game. Take all the jobs. Do all the quests you can. Just means more play time enjoyment. Will automatically get all the other stuff.

Really? its an open-ended rpg ... meaning play how you want so if you want to wait and see how and when you get the achievements then you can, if his play style is to get all the achievements then he can but I assume that the order doesn't matter

merci for the defence, in my opinion if you aren't supposed to get the achievements, then why would they be in the game? like i know they kinda have to be implemented these days, but its part of the gameplay... This is the first game that i'm getting close to 100% of the achievements xp and ill be darned if i don't get all of them aha. Besides I think the achievements for Skyrim kind of help maybe broaden the game, like I probably wouldn't be on the hunt for all daedra artifacts with out the achievement and look at how much gameplay I would've missed...
