I joined the Imperial Legion, but received a bounty for kill

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 8:07 am

So I'm strolling along from the Imperial Camp in The Rift back towards Riften (perhaps "trotting" is a better choice of words, since I was on my horse), and came across some Stormcloak soldiers fighting a bear.

So I dismounted, and I charged the Stormcloaks, and took them out.

I then received a message saying I had received a bounty in The Rift. That bounty was removed when I eliminated the final Stormcloak, and it said the witnesses were removed.

But my understanding was since we were in a Civil War, this was my enemy.

Is this not the case? Is cold blooded Stormcloak slaughter still considered murder when not done on the field of battle?

Had this happen to me as well, and it certainly raised an eyebrow.

Are you sure it was a Stormcloak, and not just a city guard? And if they were Stormcloaks, it might've said "Riften" instead of "Rift." for Riften is under rebel control, so that'd also be a viable reason to get a bounty.

it was done in stormcloak territorry, counts a murder to them, not the imperials.

It was a Stormcloak, I double checked the name, but you and ArcticKill bring up a very valid point that I hadn't thought of. Rebel territory and all that. I hadn't thought of that. I'll chalk it up to that.

And it may have said "Riften", but I figured it said "The Rift" since bounties seem to be tracked by hold, not by city.

Also - the complaint threads need to STOP. My perfectly valid thread was bumped down to page 2 within minutes because of all the whining threads.

Tell me about it. I can't find a smiley rolling his eyes... Well that ruins the post. <_<
