Joining the Dawnguard with Sanguinare Vampiris

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:44 pm

I'm pretty sure no one has the answer. But still, what do you think will happen if you try to join the Dawnguard while you have the Sanguinare Vampiris disease?

I do hope it will be possible to be a vampire who still care for the human race and other races.
To be a vampire that does not follow his master's way.

In a role playing sense, joining the Dawnguard as a vampire can make sense because with the knowledge of what kind of evil that is out there,
and what that evil plans to do with the sun, you can't stand still and do nothing about it.

And what if you have already joined the Dawnguard but on the road somewhere you get attacked by vampires, and you get infected with Sanguinare Vampiris disease.
What then?

Like you said, no one really has the answers yet. You have good questions, just ones that can't be answered till it's out. My guess would be that they demand you seak out a cure if you want to join them, but there is no way for me to really know for sure.

I think that if you already are a vampire, you'll either go through a cleansing that they might offer.
Incase of getting a disease after becoming Dawnguard, I think the scenario would be that being a Dawnguard makes you immune to that disease like the Werewolf buff. The DLC is meant for high level players so I guess you'll be a werewolf anyway.

Nobody can answer that there is nothing on the story there all one can do is speculate and that pretty much it.
It is a good idea and the cleansing thought above is a good guess.
What about a werewolf either joining the Dawnguard or the vampires that is a good question can it be done and how, but again this is also unknown as of right now.

Well, the Dawnguard may be rather inquisitorial about vampirism, so they may just end up lopping your head off and scattering your ashes at the crossroads if you try due to the corruption of your blood in their eyes.

In a role playing sense, joining the Dawnguard as a vampire can make sense because with the knowledge of what kind of evil that is out there,
and what that evil plans to do with the sun, you can't stand still and do nothing about it.

If you're role playing a member of the Order, you can justify it by rationalizing that joining the Dawnguard allows you to learn about a rival clan, and snuff them out. You can also be in a better position to take out your "comrades" after they've helped you destroy your other enemy as well.

And what if you have already joined the Dawnguard but on the road somewhere you get attacked by vampires, and you get infected with Sanguinare Vampiris disease.
What then?

Take a potion of cure disease, pray at a shrine, do anything you can to cure yourself before you die and are reborn as the monster you swore to fight.

Alternatively, turn and realize that you're still you and have just as much of a right to exist as anyone else. More so actually, as you have surpassed death. You're higher than mere mortals, so why shouldn't you view them as cattle?

I would expect extra dialog choices about how heroic your vampire is.

I opinion is that they would kick you out momentarily just like if you kill a member of the collage of winterhold or the thieves guild. Then to let you back in they would make you get clensed.

I really hate the Vampire Lord form, I think it is ugly but that's okay. That's the way it should be.
It's just a bit crap that you do not get any new vampire powers without turning yourself into an ugly evil monster. Hm, I guess I'm one of the few that will never be in that ugly evil form.

The name "Dawnguard" sounds like they are protecting the sun. In that case, the reason why they would be fighting against the Vampire Lord is not because he is a vampire, per se, but because he is seeking to end "the tyranny of the sun." In which case, vampires who seek to stop that plot could still be welcomed as members of the Dawnguard. This is all just theoretical, of course.

I think you can join the Dawnguard as a vampire because I think the Dawnguard really are the Order, or they are lead by the Order

I would think as long as you're not level 4 vampire they wouldn't even know you had it. Hostile or won't talk to you at level 4 vampire. Else? Doesn't matter.

The SV Vamps were meant to blend with the living. I see it as no problem. I had one character the became a Vamp and in protest he refused to feed. It is also possible to play the entire game as a Stage 4 Vamp. I see no reason why Dawnguard would be any different.

Then again, we don't really know. Still, I can see a SV Vamp being one of the Dawnguard, and being a Vampire hunting Vampire.

I would be so disappointed by this. If they don't have a method of telling who is or is not a vampire, they're pretty awful vampire hunters.

It would be absolutely amazing if there were three story options: join the Vampires and be evil, join the Dawnguard and fight for good, or the third option, join the Dawnguard as a vampire and be used to SPY on the Vampire clan. You would join the Dawnguard and then join the clan and infiltrate them from the inside. This would be incredible.

PUNTASTIC.

Well either you'll be purified, or recognized that you won't side with Harkon since his ideals are much more troubling than altering the sun.

According to Gameinformer's hands-on, they played as a vampire in the Dawnguard.
