I've been looking around here and on the wiki, but I haven't really found an answer yet, so I'll ask it here. I did some jobs for The King and got him to do me a favor. I really wanted to get into The Strip, so I asked for a pass. I just figured I'd be able to join The Kings later on, because I also wanted that. However, after completing the game (the main quest at least) I'm still not able to join. Have I blown my chance by not asking membership as The King's favor? Or is there any other way to join besides that one quest?

You shouldn't have; you can get the fake passport from Mick & Ralph's for 700 caps (or something like that) with a successful speech 50 check. I don't think you can join in any other way.

PS: learn to play caravan, and you'll never have problems with caps!

Yeah, I've been wondering about this, too. I had decided that the money was the best reward from the King since you can use half of it to get a counterfeit passport and he told me I could join once I was more popular. I haven't found a way to join. Do you have to be idolized by Freeside or something?

I waited to use the favor for the NCR violence thingy, still haven't been offered to become a member yet.

I'm idolized in Freeside but they still don't want me, so I'm guessing I missed my shot. The only logical consequence is sending them all to hell, let's see who's the King then.

Edit: In a new game I mean, I know I can't join in my current anymore.
