My joypad doesn't work anymore in Skyrim

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 3:54 am

I was playing with my PC joypad for 120 hours fine. Have the xbox360cemu.v.3.0.rar installed nicely in the Skyrimlauncher map. Mostly I play in offline mode, sometimes I load online mode.

Today I tried online mode again to maybe get updates in. And it did do a little update thing. Only since then, my joypad doesn't work anymore. :(

Now I am desperate. My computer is fine, completely uninstalled Skyrim and Steam, and then installed them again. Installed the 4 files again in the right map. Ticked the use Xbox pad setting in settings ingame. But no working joypad.

Please help.

You extracted the .rar archive into \Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim?

My solution for this problem was simple, but not for everyone: I went out and bought a wired 360 controller.

I used to use a Realtek joy pad to play games, so I was constantly having to install those 360 emu files, but there were a lot of games that were starting to ignore/not properly load those, so I gave up on it.

I have to concur with this. I have had several gamepads over the years for PC and all have had issues with games either not recognising them or being completely whack to use. I bought a wired 360 pad around 6 months ago and every game has worked flawlessly with it, as almost every game has support for it built in as standard. Even games from several years ago work great with it ( for example the original DiRT game ).

Do yourself a huge favour and get a wired 360 pad, it works great and with no fuss.

It's just that my joypad worked even beginning this evening still. Don't like to buy a new controler when this one worked great so far with Skyrim.*sigh*

Yes, I installed the files exactly in that folder again.:) What update did Bethesda do the last days/week? Is there a log what they changed?

Spent an evening and morning on this matter without results.:(

Today I bought an XBox360 wired joypad. Thanks bethesda and Microsoft for making me buy a new controler.....

Thought updates helps you forward. Not setting you another 35 euros backward.:(
