Joystiq game of the year = Skyrim

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:06 pm

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/04/joystiq-top-10-of-2011-skyrim/

Joystiq gives Skyrim the number one spot for 2011, saying "Whether you stand your ground and fight or tuck tail and run, it doesn't matter. Skyrim has won again, determined to keep you blissfully off track and well off the beaten path."

Sometimes it seems like this forum is filled with complaints along the lines of "Dragons svck!" But I think most of us know we'll be citing this game in a few years when we get nostalgic about games of the past.

Skyrim claims a warrior's heart.

Joystiq is my prefered site for gaming news, and I'll admit seeing Portal 2 and Skyrim taking the top two spots reaffirmed this. :) (Now I just need to get around to playing DX3.)

They didn't put Uncharted 3 OR Skyward Sword on their top 10 list.

That alone makes that GOTY award worthless.
Plus, how can anyone give such an unfinished game a GOTY award?

Wow, this is the first person who has ever made such a valid point about Skyrim! I changed my opinion completely based on this brilliant statement!

Yes, we've all heard this argument. Stop whining about it; this is their website, they can make their choice.

Well, that's really nice.
The way they describe the game is very true in my opinion, a good reason as I've ever seen one!

Yet more proof that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

I happen to think Skyward Sword is [censored].

Oh no, what's that? People have different opinions? The horror.

Reviewers don't take game breaking bugs into account and they probably based it on the XBox360 version, which was best version on release for the platform. This game shouldn't be PC/PS3 GOTY but as for mulitplatform GOTY it's a close call.
