Jungle like area

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 6:36 pm

http://g4tv.com/videos/48176/Fallout-New-Vegas-All-Access-Preview/?quality=hd

In the above video at 6:07 there is a picture of a jungle like area and what looks to be a giant praying mantis.

Just so you know the video for some reason skips to a new video. The new video has the jungle in it.

maybe its an affect of one of the vault specific tests that were run by vault tec.

like maybe an experiment to grow flaura after the war. but it spread out of control and the inhabitants were killed and the vault was encompassed in vines

maybe the vines grew around them and suffocated them in their sleep.

maybe they released poison

just an idea

Actually the hole in the wall there has the same design as an open vault door so I'm guessing you're right. But, I was thinking the vault may have had a GECK and used it.

From what I've read & heard its supposed to be a Vault of some kind, the GECK must have gone out of control or something causing a little bit to much vegetation and gigantic Mantis creatures. :tops:

They might have also retrofitted the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Nursery into New Vegas.

OT: You love this icon don't you?

And yes a while back alot of people were discussing this and came up with similar predictions, like a Moses Arc Vault where they kept a number of each species or performed tests on animals and such or this was a botany testing facility.

someone used the geck.... inside the vault? well this is a reasonable idea except from what i read the gecks in fo1 and 2 was a case of high tech parts that would be slowly disasembled along with a vault to build a city. the geck you find in fo3 from the wikki's description svcks in all matter within a certain range and then transforms it. wouldn't the vault have collaped instead of turning into a jungle?

I'm going to go with the agricultural experiments.

I don't think we'll be seeing Harold in the game, seeing as he appeared in Fallout 3 and is not really in a condition to go anywhere at the time. Still, I could see this being an attempt to recycle the premise of the Nursery, after all, it would be a waste to just through out every concept conceived for Van Buren and do nothing with them.

Pretty much what I think. They have so many concepts from Van Buren included, might as well add the home of Harold.

It's been confirmed that it is a vault?
Because I remember seeing another screenshot of the PC having a holstered plasma rifle on her back wearing a combat armor standing next to another structure with a similar look but it had one of those metal doors and not a vault door.

[edit]
http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=4221 http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=4227

They have similar cement structure but the opening at the jungle image looks a lot like a vault doors.
Still, it's not entirely confirmed that it is a vault.
Might be an underground bunker that used the same door but was never designed to be an actual vault by vault-tec.

Saved me a response.

@Gabriel: The image with the combat armor and plasma rifle is the outside of the BOS bunker.

That is my understanding based on some leaked images of the interior and info.

Edit: Also, the graffiti on the exterior only bolsters this evidence.

Nice. Looking forward to more vegetation. Oasis in FO3 was a nice change of pace, though I do prefer the wasteland to pristine terrain.

It looks more like a greenhouse with a vault style door unless the greenhouse is just a cover.

I don't know about the nursery. It's supposed to be in a valley and not indoors as plants couldn't have survived. I definitely think it's a vault just because of the door. Still the idea of an agriculture vault is interesting but an over reactive GECK is good too.

Well VB isn't entirely canon.
So they are probably going to take parts of Van Buren and re-write them to fit them into the game.
So Jungle Vault might be a slightly re-written Nursery.
Just like Repcon might be a slightly re-written version of Reservation.

Maybe the expeirement assigned to the vault was they recieved an over-powered GECK that would go off pre-maturely.
