cold and uncooked.
anyone done this? it tastes quite good. Now I know I can survive on cold beans if I ever have a sudden inspiration to forsake society and live in the wild like that christopher mccandless guy.
Of course. They taste best that way. Reminds me of the old days.
Mojave Survival tips from an old Marine: (trust me, with Camp Twentynine Palms in the Mojave, I've spent plenty of time surviving the place)
1. Place your food in metal or foil packaging just underneath the top layer of sand. It will quickly heat up for a tasty meal.
2. Place your water in a canvas bag. As the water wets throught the canvas, it will evaporate and the caloric transfer will actually cool the water inside the bag.
3. Stay covered up. Direct exposure to the sun will hasten your oncoming heat stroke.
4. Stay hydrated. You may drink many
gallons of water a day to keep up your hydration.
5. Check your urine. The darker your urine, the more dehydrated you are. Seriously. This is important [censored] here.
6. Restrict your efforts during the hottest hours of 10am - 2pm. Really. Siestas are your friend.
7. Pack warm clothes. I'm not kidding. The temperature differentials from day to night are drastic. You'll freeze your butts off at night (especially in the winter).
8. Don't get shot in the head and buried in a shallow grave. (Surely, I didn't need to say this, did I?)
-Gunny out.
