Just can't get used to the camera movement...

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 1:57 am

Hello!!

Well ive been trying to get along with playing Skyrim on my pc for a couple weeks now but one thing just keeps annoying me.. the camera.. no matter what im doing it just decides it wants to move where it wants and not with my character, i think ive been spoilt by other rpg's which allow the camera to move only with the character so i dont have to use my mouse to try to focus while im trying to run around bends and other tricky spaces. My other problem is I kind of have a gammy hand a disability from birth where my brain doesnt always send the right signals so sometimes it doesnt move at all.. Is there a way of fixing the camera position? or should i give up and go back to the sad land of wow lol!!

Cheers
Heath :)

If I understood correctly you want the camera to follow your character view instead of you having to turn it with your mouse?

You could try these:

1 - Keep a weapon/spell always equiped. This will fix the camera always behind your character.

2 - Ask for a modder in the mods session to try and do this for you. I'm sure it's not very complicated.

I'm guessing that the odd camera movements are due to the camera auto-moving to avoid obstacles like walls etc.

I can't imagine trying to play TES not in first person. I only go to third person for conversations. Third person is tacked on, really.

I've never been able to get comfortable with 1st person perspective in any type of game. I do like 1st person for sniping with arrows, but little else, in Skyrim. I play much better with a 3rd person perpective.

I had the same problem in reverse when I went from Oblivion to playing WoW for the first time. It just takes getting used to.

Im just the opposite. I cant see how 1st person is viable at all. You seem to lose a good portion of your field of view and the combat feels wonky. I zoom the camera in close so I see my character from the waist up and it just feels more natural to me.
