The Mod Kit and editability of Skyrim is the reasons I feel the game is worth 60 bucks.
It will be the first game in history that I felt was actually worth 60 bucks. While I am very unhappy to pay that much fkncash for a VIDEO GAME normally... This is the first true exception. (... You could get huge hardware upgrades for the price of two games.........).
I will say that Skyrim is one of the first exceptions to this rule. for one reason only.
ONE REASON.
Product life expectancy.
Yea, Skyrim itself, without an editor.. its arguably the best RPG. but lets not pretend like it doesnt get boring.
The Editor "HELPS" to releave this issue. I will probably reinstall Skyrim a few times again, after the editor is released.
The point of this thread, If the editor and or mod tools are ever compramised in any way, or limited, so that bethesda can stop us from adding our own content, so they can sell us junk later
(LIKE E.A. Did with BATTLEFIELD 2 - 3).
I will no longer purchase the game near release dates for full price. I was happy to purchase Skyrim for full price.
I have been playing Battlefield games for what.. 15 years now? at least... But I did not buy a single product after Bad Company 2.
E.A. decided to stop releasing editors, and stop allowing the community to make the best new maps for free.
So I stopped buying their @#$.
I would already own Bf3. But Im sure E.A. wont be releaseing the editor.
To tell you the truth.. the day they release an editor and allow us to play around and make our own maps... Ill buy the game.. and hell.. i will probably STILL , almost surely purchase any DLC they add.
But if they are going to gewbag and reneg. no problem. I wont support them.
(There are countless other games / and or better products out there I can spend my time with)
and thats if you dont count MMOs and other real life hobbies.
Lets not pretend like Ill die or cry without battlefield 3. I think about it like once every two months.
Ill buy it once its like 20 bucks.
they can svck a cactus untill then. no biggy.
I just wanted to say thanks to Todd howard (If that was his name, I forget), and who ever else at bethesda who was smart enough to realise that (People still buy DLC even if you release the editor).
Unlike E.A. games, which , only tied with SONY, are the two companies I despise the most.
Thanks for staying a Good Company.
(Although I'm still a bit PSSED about the fact that I was told "Horse armor will be in the game" only to come to find out that that ment (Not the game you baught,) The DLC you can pay more for later.
Dont think I've forgotten about that bull@#$.
Luckly your faction still remains high.
honestly I hated bethesda for that, and one other huge issue I had with them for the longest time, untill I saw the passion they put into Skyrim. (Which also deserves the, "MOST OPTIMIZED GAME" of 2011) imo. for the ammount of graphic quality.. the game runs amazingly even on my 9800 Video card.
Something that Rockstar FAILED at, after being BORN from the PC.
Someone up at bethesda, forward this information to a few people who call the shots.
I would imagin that the number of people who agree with me on this topic is pretty high.
All that being said...
To tell you the truth.. Battlefield 3 would have been one of the other few and far between games that I would have felt great about paying full price, 60 bucks, DAY ONE. I have probably played more BF than Elder scrolls.
But I will NOT be screwed. for a company to withhold an editor, just so they can limit content (Which doesnt event effect sales as much as one money grubber might think).
I would have purchased BF3, I would have been happy to pay full price. But they lost my purchase.
I just wish I could tell their president exactly what kind of customers they often lose, and why.
I buy GREAT DLC reguardless. but I will refuse if you get greedy ( E.A. games, not bethesda).
