Just completed it *Confused*

Hi again,

I'm a little confused, just completed the game went NCR all the way and it seems i've made loads of mistakes missing out on alot of content...

I never got to kill Benny, see the fort, kill Ceaser and even get the chip back. Benny ran off to the fort and i had the idea that the battle for hoover dam would lead me to him, it did'nt :(
Another big mistake was doing the game without compainions untill near the end, i was so far that i could never do the quests for them.

The ending felt incomplete and anti-climatic for me, even though i explored pretty much every location.

I'm not sure what to tell you. Since the game makes it very obvious that you are going into the endgame and you have the option there to back out, that was pretty much your choice. And the main questline means you are pretty much told how to get to Benny, the Fort, and Caesar. Not to mention that skipping the companions was also a clear choice you made. So while I can see why you would be disappointed, it seems entirely the result of your choices.

If you "explored pretty much every location" I doubt you would be posting.......

Honestly, it's a side effect of the fact that there's so many overlapping and/or contradictory quests between the different factions. It's possible to get to the "end" in various ways, and not all of them will go through every point in between. Even going the same basic path, depending on your choices.

Edit: and that's not even accounting for quest scripts bugging out. Even more possible variations.... :)

(On the "going to get Benny" thing.... did you get a quest saying "Benny ran off - you need to go to Cottonwood Cove and take the boat to Caesar's fort" ? Or there's also a messenger from Caesar who tells you the same thing - he stopped me right after Benny ran off, once I was out in "public" again....)

There are several ways to finish the game. Make a different character with different skills and join up with a new faction!

Yeah i got that quest decided to wait as i thought that would lead to end game, after another 20 + hours went to the messenger but he was flagged as red. So never could take that route.

@Sarkus - Not taking companions was not a choice believe it or not i found my first after about 30 hours of play time by which time i had done all the so called *history* quests, i never looked online or had a manual i just played the game.

But yeah i'm going to play again and hopefully i won't fall into another pithole due to my choices.

P.S @ Valkbus no idea what you mean by that please elaborate.
