A while ago I posted that it would be cool if you would make a character who would be family of a NPC.
So now i've made a character who would is the son of Ulfric Stormcloak. His name is: Jannicus Stormcloak

It is tremendous fun for RP purposes and I really recommend it.

For [censored] and giggles I've also tried to stay at lvl 1 as long as possible without upgrading and it's nice too ^^

Good likeness and interesting RP. Like most things in Skyrim you will have to use your imagination for most of it.

And sure:
for one I like to be a good guy. So although I do side with the Stormcloaks with this character (obviously) I'm not as much as a "racist" as people see the stormcloaks in general. I don't discriminate other races but though if I see that a nord is being "bullied" I will help him first. Yet like Ulfric Stormcloak who supossedly doesn't send reinforcements to people being robbed by bandits, I will do that. So first I need to make a name again for myself. Because Jannicus was born in Skyrim, he left a while ago to learn a lot of skills from different races (smithing like orcs, stealing like a kahjit,...), I decided to do the travelling thing because I plan to max out every skill with my character just like I did with my previous one. Jannicus now decided to return to Skyrim and to his father because he wants to aid him and the Stormcloaks and to be ready to take the throne from his father when he would die. Unfortunately he was ambushed by the imperials when he crossed the border into Skyrim. There he saw his father again, who changed so much since the last time that Jannicus saw him, that he didn't even recognise him anymore. Thankfully he could escape and decided to make a name for himself in Skyrim so he would make a perfect candidate for the next Jarl (/ High king dlc maybe?).


Just an idea of how you could do the RP

Not to ruin your experience, but how do you deal with all the conflicts? Half of the people in Skyrim will learn your name. Stormcloack is quite a rare and noble name so people will associate you with Ulfric. You don't know anybody in Skyrim not even the people that would have raised you.

Ulfric his wife is never mentioned, if she even exists and you'd think that the heir to Windhelm would be at least be slightly important?

Personally I always found it way to difficult to RP anybody from Skyirm, just because you were always treated like an idiot outsider... Makes it hard for me to believe anything.

Neat idea. I'm going to have to think about this one--which character I would like to make a relative of.

My latest character is Clarissa andronicus, distant relative of a once proud colliseum trainer from cyrodiil, she is the first sword and shield character that I have not quit after a few hours on master difficulty. Joining the stormcloaks as an imperial I was slightly disappointed that galmor didn't throw a fit or downright reject me.

RP'ing a related character to an NPC is a nice idea, now let's see if I can get away with creating Aela's younger brother who has a great collection of etchings he made while she was bathing and has an idea to set himself up as a fine arts merchant.

I also RP that my Nord chars come from Solstheim and are arriving in Skyrim for the first time.

Ofcourse you need to use your fantasy. That's a keyword in roleplaying!

Nobody said Jannicus has to be a legitimate heir. Maybe he's a bastard born somewhere in the Reach after the Forsworn Rebellion? Maybe he only recently discovered who his father is and took his name? I think it could work.

Anyway, I could never RP a native either. The closest I could get was "she left when she was just a child and barely remembers anything".

If you are on PC, you should make an Altmer-Nord hybrid as his son. During the Great War, he may have hooked up with an Altmer woman. Mer are considered the most beautiful of the races by the people of Tamriel anyway (although I prefer Imperials, Redguards, and Bretons)

Roleplaying with the elements within the game make it huge fun, Lord Nerevar still has a part in my game and my people I am making now are his lineage, hos name is Andoral he is an Altmer and he is the immortal Nerevarine, he would have those believe he is in Akavir but he is really in Skyrim.

Roleplaying makes this game series even runner and its allowed to to make characters spanning four hundred plus years in this games past, Otheral Lordiril my name on these forums was born a few years after Tiber Septim.

Hey, if Luke Skywalker can remain hidden from the Empire for twenty years on his father's home planet it can't be that hard to fool a few Nords.
