Is it just me or does the guy character look...strange?

I meen seriously he looks like a naked cro magnon man with a double chin and I can move the sliders to the moon and back and he'd still look like a fat guy with a digestion problem. Does anyone else notice this?

I wish I could make him look younger than about 35. I guess life's hard in the Wasteland.

It took a lot of work to make the default male face look normal, he does have an odd face and extremely pronounced double chin / chicken neck going on. I don't know why they made the starting face look so goofy

There's a long Bethesda tradition of hideous faces (Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout). I think they do a great job on the art in general, but the face design is always unbelievably, comically bad. Rhedd (and others later) pretty much made Morrowind playable.

The funny thing is that the hair is just as bad. Like cheap toupees glued onto mutant ghoul-spawn. I half think it's intentionally humorous.

If you're playing on the PC, mods will make it better, eventually.

I actually got my male character looking passable. I admit however that they all look VERY weird at first. I think it's mostly the lighting in the character creation sim, makes the face look odd no matter how you customize it. When I got out it looked better than I expected. Also the NPCs seem alright so far.

the lighting makes your guy look MUCH worse. In the creation my guys eyebrows looked over bearing, so i lightened them, and now i can hardly see them in proper lighting :(. i really hope there is a place to get some facial reconstruction, but i havn't found one yet :(.

they look pretty bad on the crafting, but after you make it - they look fairly different. WHat i mean is in the mirror when you're using sliders they look jacked up, but when its made theres a big difference (i think) so i had to do 4 or 5 before i got the hang of what's what
