Was checking out the differences between 45 70 gov 308's 30 06/50bmg .And i came across this monstrosity on wikipedia .700 nitro express.Just felt a need to express my amazement of the diff in size compared to a medium end .308 lol.I got to ask is it even possible to fire such a big bullet without wearing a cast the next day?Opinions would be appreciated.Also if bored and want to have a laugh look up ..950 JDJ 45 70's big daddy

Sure it's possible. The bigger the cartridge, the heavier the rifle you want to use to shoot it. Heavier rifle = more recoil energy absorbed. And there's some technique involved, how to hold and how to stand, so that you absorb the energy gracefully instead of it dislocating your shoulder. You can shoulder-fire .50 BMG too (much more powerful), if you can support the sheer weight of the rifles chambered for this.

Is .950 JDJ
Even a viable round or is it designed for amusemant then [ratical use?.I know 600 express is for elephant hunting and the 50 bmg is for material destruction .*aka they have their use.But .950 JDJ seems more a cannon round then anything even resembling a rifle round.Saw a couple videos of the 600 nitro express and quite honestly unless ur built i dont see how ppl wont end up on their asses lol.
