Just got my latest copy of OXM magazine

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 10:30 pm

I must admit I've only glanced at the review for FO:NV but they gave it a score of 9, what surprised me is the fact that they usually mention the positive/negative points about a game with the score but there was no mention of the bugs, which I've seen mentioned on this forum. Is the game as buggy as some people seem to portray or is it that the 360 version has escaped some of the bugs that the PC version has?

It's an OFFICIAL xbox magazine. If they actually put that in the review, backlash from Microsoft.

The game is buggy.

Post all over the tech forums.

Yeah, never buy "official" magazines, they're just mouthpieces for the PR department. You're paying for the privelidge of reading their press releases.

I agree that they sometimes hold back a bit, depending on the developer but they would still usually give some indication of any problems even if they did underplay it and reading some more topics on this forum it looks as though console versions of the game have less problems.

Yeah, once I was able to get demos off of Xbox Live, there was no reason to pay $10 for a "review" magazine that was nothing more than paid advertisemants.

Plus, you know, the internet has thousands of reviews for free.

It snot as buggy as some people portray it to be.All Betheda's games have been glitchy on release its just to difficult to get all the bugs out.I have encountered some slow frame rate and lag to hitting buttons but otherwise its good.

I haven't seen any major bugs yet. Every game has a tech forum full of bugs when it's released, and every person having a problem thinks whatever game that is is the Buggiest Game of All Time™. I lurk game tech forums when games are released all the time, and this release isn't any worse than most others. You should have seen the Bioware tech forums when Mass Effect 2 was released. It was a lot worse than this. A lot of people couldn't even install the game.

I usually use the Wiki guides but the mag isn't expensive (less than £5) and I always like to have a quick look when it comes.

Obviously, yours is working. Many others are not. My friend and I got ours at the same time at Gamestop. His works fine. He's only had one crash since release. I had a dozen the first night. Multiple corrupted save files and numerous other bugs. Plus the lag and frame rate issues. FO3/Oblivion were NOT this bad.

Fun fact: In the UK at least, almost all game magazines, official and non-official, are published by the same company.

no it is very very buggy for me
xbox 360
constant freezing, lagging looooong load ime
the arm pump, my character shooting weapons uncontrollably
falling through the map
etc etc tc

love red dead redemption ---- no gltches at all and the largest map out there
far better game and although it is a shooter, it has rpg elements
great story and a character you love
it ends, but does not end, music i love to hear
love to sit on my horse and just watch the sun rise... isnt that an element of an rpg
just toplay a character?
rockstar, YOU know what you are doing, they plan on making a full rpg, hope they do

in fallout nv
i do not like my character, a confusing story line
i found out i could actually finish the game very fast, 10 hours or less
if i did not have a guide book i would not know that
i hate the crafting
i bought parts to add to my guns, but have no clue as to how to do so
guide book is useless for that

fallout 3 map is also bigger than fallout nv
nv just has a very crowded map
oblivion has about 365 locations fallout 3 way less than that

the chevo in fallout nv is 125, so i will assume that is about the number of locations
i have 85 already

I'm on PC and it's probably the least buggy game on release I've played in a few years (except Starcraft 2).
