Just got Rage and I love it, however....

Have to say... No deathmatch in an ID game really disappointed me. I'm sure I'm not the first to say this...

I'll be playing the game for a long while anyways, and I love good single player campaigns, but since the game was made by ID I just sort of assumed the standard multiplayer modes would be in the game. I have been playing the single player for a while now and never even bothered to look. I was thinking on and off that after I got a ways into the campaign I would fire up some old school DM stuff... I decided to try it out and was confused looking through the menus. This really is a great game, but I am just astonished there is no DM or CTF stuff.

It would have rocked, yes.

I really don't think the pacing is right for a DM game though. While it would be nice with DM or even some kind of Horde co-op mode, I doubt people would play it for long.

It would be more appropriate in Doom 4 and Quake 5 (if Quake 5 is somehow secretly in development)

Love RAGE & agree that DM would have made this game a big hit.
With the huge variety of enemies, ammo & cracking frame rates it would have been a 'bloody riot!"

A major miscalculation for an otherwise outstanding new IP.

Wow, little late to the game....wish you would have joined us on the forums a year ago when I was pushing for TDM...Game would have been great with TDM. Funny though about 30% of forum goers HATE the idea. your right in your initial post...an Id game with no TDM - ridiculous. But hey, the game lasted for a week or two and now has just become an Id Tech 5 engine demo--nice game, just not a great game.

I am waiting for the typical "RAGE was NEVER meant to be deathmatch and if you were expecting deathmatch then obviously you didn't do your homework.....yadda,yadda,yadda....you only have yourself to blame" counter.

My favorite response is "NOBODY wants Rage deathmatch....just because they don't care for deathmatch."

Deathmatch could have easily doubled or tripled sales for the game.

I would have loved a DM feature. Also The horde mode idea would have been great fun. Hell i am tempted to base one of my game concepts on alot of the things i learned from rage. Besides the weak ass ending the game was great.
