Just got the platinum

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:16 pm

3 characters and over 300 hours later I finally (fairly naturally) received the Skyrim platinum trophy. The only one I had to spam through was reaching level 50 because I role play fairly heavily, and it's really hard to get to level 50 when only focusing on one aspect of play (warrior, sneak, mage). And I'm really happy I went through with all the daedric quests; some of them are the best in the game imo.

I'm interested in what other people who are trophy hunting think was the hardest/most fun trophies to get.

Yeah, probably the achievement that took the longest for me. Master Criminal was more annoyance than difficulty.

I know what the last 2 I'll get will be.
Master Criminal should be renamed Notorious Outlaw. What sort of master criminal is wanted everywhere?
Thief. I just don't pickpocket unless theres a quest reason to do so.

I Just traveled to a hold and shot someone in the face than ran lol.

EDIT: I completely forgot. Restoring the thieves guild. That was like giving birth.

Restoring the thieves guild was so boring how many of those jobs were there? There were about 20 of them at lest the special Jobs for each city was fun especially the Markarth and Windhelm Jobs. The hard worker trophy started to get on my nerves. Mining ore and cooking food was easy enough but chopping wood wasn't. For me it was so hard to get a woodcutters axe and whenever I had one I would have dropped it because it weighed to much

There's a woodaxe and chopping block at just about every sawmill in the game. Usually very close to each other.

I completed Hard Worker in about 10 minutes... maybe less. What I don't like about it is that it's a trophy at all. You get nothing for collecting ALL of the Dragon Priest Masks... but you get something for doing 3 of the easiest and most mundane things in the game.

One with the Shadows was probably the most difficult just because of the length of the path caused by the small jobs. :P I'm not a trophy hunter, but I answered, anyway. I'll never get Oblivion Walker and I won't bother with Master Criminal or Wanted.

The last two I unlocked were finding 50 dungeons and reading enough skill books.
All of the others just came naturally.

I wondered this too. Why would collecting all the masks not result in a trophy? It's tough, and a cool 'side quest'.

Congrats, you show off.

Thank you, you nice person.

I would have liked a Bards college questline + trophy, and I agree with the above that collecting all the masks should be an achievement. None of the achievements were difficult, Oblivion Walker doesn't even require you to keep the items, just to have obtained them at some point in that game, Master Criminal can be done via werewolf transformation very easily. Restoring Thieves Guild probably took the longest. For the more hardcoe players there could maybe be an achievement for owning all the houses and discovering all possible locations on the map.

I also would have liked one for collecting all 24 Unusual Gems and restoring the Crown of Barenziah!

You sir, are a chocolate milk drinker. Why don't you gulp down some mead and go and get those achievements like a man?

I'm going for platinum. I dragged myself through the hideous TG trophies, then deleted the poor female kad'jitt who did them.
The save was quarantined, only approachable while wearing hazmat suits.
Got so bored and pissed off while doing them I made a second character, a female orc two handed berserker. For playing properly.
I then did the Oblivion Walker trophy with her.
Then deleted her, because I was bored with the 2handed style. And heavy armour is a pain to use. She looked tired constantly.

Now doing the Thief trophy with my female redguard onehanded swordmaster.
Also doing the level 50 trophy. I suspect there is'nt enough in the game to get to level 50 while doing none repeating quests.

I may do Master Criminal with her too.

And I think that is it. Once they are done, it's Platinum. :D

The worst trophies were the TG ones, the worst quests and trophies in any game, ever.
They made me appreicate how well written the Caesers Legion trophies and quests were in Fallout New Vegas.
The actions within the quests make sense, the hideousness and stupidity aside. And you can do the barest minimal possible to get the trophy.
The faction itself makes more sense, the stupidity aside. They go from A to B, straightforward actions, most of the time.
The TG makes absolutely zero sense, has zero logic in any, way, shape or form.

It's odd there is no trophy for collecting all the Dragon Priest masks.

And one for owning all the houses would be good.

It's odd the Bards College has no trophy for it.

Or the stones of Berenziah.

It feels like the Bards College is just something that was thrown in for no reason. I finished it and thought "well... did that".

It's too late for The Taste of Death and I'm not gonna' start another character just for that. That's not the only thing though - I just can't bring myself to betray innocent people (yes, even in a game). I'd rather drag ass NPCs kicking and screaming to Reachcliff Cave and the Sacellum of Boethiah than trick NPCs that trust me.

As for Master Criminal: I can't bring myself to just kill a guard for the hell of it. I could wander around until one of them gave me the nasty "...fetch the mead?" comment and kill him or her, but the trophy just isn't that important to me. If I were to use the werewolf transformation 'exploit' it would break the RP nature because the few times I've used werewolf form I make sure I transform out of view.

As for Wanted: I just don't want to lose any of my progress towards the next level mainly because both of my characters are pretty high and I'd could lose quite a bit. :o

I played my first character so long that I naturally completed all but one trophy. The daedric quest one. Turns out I screwed that up and had to start a new character. So now I'm going around redoing all of those quests. The fun part is having a character that hasn't done the main quest or any guilds plays somewhat differently than my first time through.

Just do it and don't save. Thats what I did. As RP'ing goes I just act like it never happened lol.

:P It's not that I don't want to RP the Namira and Boethiah ones - I don't want to do those at all. It's just too unsettling. Yes, I know it's a game and I can still barely tell the difference between fantasy and reality - I just can't bring myself to do them. It may have something to do with the fact that I took advantage of trusting people when i was younger so as a recovering sociopath I'm afraid of sliding back if I do that stuff even in a game.

I don't think I have all of the Trophies/Achievements for any game so it's no big loss. I get into the 80-90% ranges, but I don't think I have 100% in any game. :o

I felt bad for Faendal, but he died for a bigger cause. That cause was me getting the Ebony Armor.

I won't do those either.... eww. I did the TG on one toon, that was enough - and I did NOT do all the annoying little quests to restore it, since I sincerely hope it just goes away completely (I certainly won't do it again on any toon).

And I have NO CLUE what achievements I might have got. I just don't care.... it's a silly thing entirely.
