Just Light a fire!

I was talking to another Skyrim adventurer who plays a Sorceress about how I beat a most difficult undead creature by using my two-handed sword and lots of brawn, taking the hits as warriors do.

She told me she just lit the oil puddles on the floor on fire and got the monster to run into it!

I always wondered what that coloured stuff on the floor was.

Great how you can solve different problems in different ways in this game!

As embarassing as this is to admit, I didn't know that was oil on some of the floors until I accidentally lit myself on fire during a fight.

lol I figured that out on day one, saw a flaming jar, recalled a statement in one of the interviews where you could knock it down and burn oil, looked around, saw no black stuff, thought the red colored liquid was...well not oil, smacked flaming Jar, Burned alive D:

My Bosmer loves to shoot them but has this problem of taking out the draugrs before they even run into it.

Yeah... There's also gas that can explode if you light a torch. BTW, did you know that you can deactivate trapped chests by activating the trap before?
