If it makes you feel any better, they are among the most absent of all the races. There isn't even a wood-elf that you can marry. However there are still a few of them, the first character I talked to after the opening was a wood elf as well.

The two brothers that run the Drunken Huntsman in Whiterun are wood elves.

It's a little hard finding dead ones (for a certain quest) without making them yourself.

There is one working inthe Thalmore embassy, and another 2 named ones in Riften, those are the only 3 i can think of though.

A certain Forsworn ruin in the south west extremity of the map has a dead one in an exterior tent if you're REALLY struggling (which I was untill I stumbled upon this one).

This is bad. I know Bosmer don't have much business up north but seriously... I want Skyrim to be a bit more multi-cultural than this. Oblivion did that well. I've always liked Bosmer, I want more of them. They're uglier in this game than in OB, though, but still... they're not supposed to look like humans.

Really? They are uglier in this game?
Thats just...wrong :/

Anyway, Nords don't like any elves at all and I'm sure they don't want many of them or the incident with the Snow Elves might happen again.
They also live way down South, obviously there wouldn't be many up North.

And heres another reason:Bosmer love lush forests filled with plants, which Skyrim doesn't.

That's because Bosmer are too cool for school to be used as normal NPCs.

Cyrodil was the capital of the empire, it would be more cosmopolitan and more races would live there. Skyrim has been more insular and the Nords have not been encouraging to other races that want to settle.

However, to that end, there are not enough wood elves for a forested area.

Of course it's kind of hard to tell a wood elf from a high elf or even a dark elf in this game. All of them, at least on my graphics settings, have the same grubby brown skin-tones.....

However, I think the owner of the Drunken Huntsman is a Bosmer because he has the "all black" eyes....

Nevermind that Bosmer are to Altmer what Nords are to Imperials, except if the Imperials came first.

Certainly! It only makes sense, and I imagine Skyrim isn't too popular with the Bosmer. I just think they could've included a few more. Oh well, DLC and mods will fix that I suppose.

The wiki site lists Elrindir and his brother as Bosmer. Elrindir also looks a bit green to be Dunmer to me.

I'm less put off by the absence of races like Bosmer in Skyrim and slightly surprised that they are there at all. Why would a Khajit, Argonian, Bosmer and etc., be in such a cold environment, so far away from their home country if they had the choice? I assume it's mostly because they are playable races and thus have to be represented as npcs, even in a limited fashion.

They're Bosmer without a doubt. They even recognize my character as a fellow Wood Elf.

Actually, Bosmer in Skyrim look 1000x better than in any of the previous games. In Oblivion they were just ridiculous, both in looks and personality.
