Just returning after being away...

Haven't played since January and I see there are a lot of changes. The one thing I was hoping to get an answer on though, was regarding this new patch.

I read that they are releasing a patch that will allow for mounted combat but only for 360. My first question is if this is true? And if so....why? I know that MS gets timed exclusivity for DLC but I didn't think that applied to patches also. Is this also timed and the rest of us will get eventually? I play on PC but am curious about whether ps3 and PC both will eventually get this content.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Yep. PS3 and PC will get it eventually. As of this time it is hasn't been disclosed when PC and PS3 get dawnguard (at least 30 days). PC users should be able get the mounted combat beta already (steamworks only? not really sure)

Seems you got the info mangled a little...

A few weeks ago, we PC players got the beta 1.6 patch that gave us mounted combat and optimizations. Some reported bugs, some didnt so it is up to you to get it (It is out of beta, by the way so 1.6 is official).

Last week, Bethesda announced a beta test sign up for Dawnguard, which will be out on 360 first and after 30 days, PS3 and PC. June 26 is the target date after beta test feedback (beta testers have already been chosen, as well).

Ah I see. I apologize for that I must have confused the dawn guard info with the patch. I guess the smart thing would have been to just log into steam and play first, before asking lol. Thanks for the responses. Have either of you tried it? What do you think.

The patch, if you are asking that, is ok for me.

The Dawnguard beta is Xbox 360 only. It is so strict that not only is it US only and selected people, one has to sign a NDA agreement a.k.a If you leak info Bethesda has full rights to sue. So right now they are in their little secret beta forum. Shhhh!

Also keep in mind it is a beta so they are bug squishing, not admiring the DLC :D

Yeah I expected as much regarding the beta. I can't wait to start playing again tomorrow. Probably going to take me forever to catch up with all the mods that have been released. I don't even know how to install them. Last mod I used was in Oblivion.
