I just spent 15.000 gold...

on leveling smithing from 1-100 to obtain the enhanced legendary version of the dragon armor.

I find the gear awesome and I can't wait to try it out, as I've recently rolled from an assassin/archer to a "battle archer".

However, the amount of gold really surprised me?
I figgure, I should have used the warrior's stone for + experience and some speech gear for better pricing..

And now I can't stop thinking about, whether it was actually worth it.
So I guess I need to level enchanting to upgrade my weapons and such, wouldn't you?

- and to that regard: Does any of you know the best 1-handed weapon in the game?

If your goal is to get the best most powerful armor and weapons in the game, then it is worth it. However, you don't need the best armor and weapons in the game to be successful. Even Steel Plate Armor can be as strong as fully improved Dragon with judicious skill and perk choices.

You will find that if you continue down this road, then you are going to have mostly one hit kills. If that is what you want, then go for it, but you can Craft all the challenges out of this game if you are not careful.

Also, I really hope you leveled your combat skills up. Otherwise you are going to put on your pretty armor and wield your fancy sword and the first bear you come across will hand your butt to you on a platter.

An enchanted daedric sword is probably the best, but i think i read somwhere that chillrend has a higher damage... not sure if thats true.

Daedric weapons duel enchanted are about as good as it gets as far as weapons go. With perks in one handed in the route you plan to take (swords, war ax, etc) you should be able to to one or two hit kill any an everything in the game. I used the alchemy system to create stronger fortify enchant potions and created enchanted smithing apparell to make my weapons even stronger. I can 3-4 hit kill ancient dragons with my duel weild daedric swords. They are so powerful that I mainly just play as a mage and ONLY pull out the weapons if having a really difficult time.

The best version of chillrend (46+) is better than the deadric sword in damage, but the deadric mace has the highest one handed weapon damage in the game

Skilling smithing is cheap. Buy iron ore and leather and make iron daggers.

15,000...?

I can usually max it out with 4-8k, depending on my character's speechcraft level.

Do not worry, it is worth it !

However, if you want to have better prices in the future, I suggest to get Masque of Cassius ville and also to do the following: go to the Radiant Raiment in Solitude, buy a necklace that reduces prices, disenchant it and enchant another amulet with some nice price reduction on it (and while you're at it, add a fortify carry weight on that merchant's necklace !)

enchanting is where the money is...enchant,tge dragon armor and you'll get your money back

the best 1h to my knowledge is dragonsbane...its a leveled sword so wait until level 40 or so to get it and the base damage will be around 50. Also it can be upgraded and the extra damage to dragons helps later

I believe the daedric mace and ebony mace do the same damage. Ebony mace weighs 1 pound less though and I believe weight is a factor in stamina drain during power attacks. .

I think you've got it the other way around. Ebony and Daedric maces weight the same but the Daedric Mace's base damage (20) is one more than the Ebony Mace's (19.)

Then UESP is wrong. The grid they have shows the same base damage and the Daedric weighing 20. They also have this quote "However, the Ebony Mace and Ebony War Axe are actually slightly better than the Daedric equivalents. These two weapons have identical damage statistics to the Daedric versions, but weigh less and do not require the use of a valuable http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Daedra_Heart, making them somewhat better overall."

With your master smithing, you should not be able to improve everything, and sell it. This should easily help you recover that 15k.
Any magic ebony you find, temper it and sell it back for around 1k more.

Grab that Mace of Molag Bal, smithed to legendary it is easily the best weapon in the game. Plus it'll always keep your store of soul gems nice and filled up.

The Mace of Molga Bal is arguably the best looking mace in the game. I use soul stealing weapons more sparingly now as I got tired of automatically stuffing skeevers into common gems, etc.
