Weee! dragons seem pretty damned awesome.

I chose to go with an argonian character. Hey, I'm dragonborn, right? Seems to make sense, plus they look awesome.

Anyway, other than the race/name menu. where does the other character creation take place, or does it?

Also, is there away to assign quick weapon slots? I have a sword and a bow, but the only way I can switch between the two is to go into the itmes menu. Hitting 'F' for Favorites doesn't seem to do anything.

[Edit: Why can't we edit thread titles?]

Character creation is different compared to previous Elder Scrolls games. Your character creation depends on what skills you use throughout the game, and what perks you decide to choose.

You can hot key items buy pressing triangle on the ps3 version, I don't know what key that would be on pc.

There's got to be a resource somewhere for all the newcomers.

But I'll give a couple of freebies:

I can't understand why the left and right mouse buttons are backwards, but you can switch that in the Settings.

Press Q while playing to show the quicklist. Any Favorite will appear here. Highlight, then press a number (1-8) to assign the favorite to that hotkey.

You can unlock any shouts you've learned with a dragon soul. (the first shout is unlocked automatically, though, which makes that unexpected).

True. You are now owned by Skyrim for a limited time.

Hitting Q in game doesn't do anything. Hitting F in the inventory doesn't do anything, either

I'm on PC, btw.

Actually, choosing your race has little to do with what skills you choose to follow in Skyrim, when compared to previous TES releases. Now, if one chooses a race that favors a certain skill-set, like destruction magic, etc, they will start off having a bit more points assigned to those skills. That's fine and apropos, but, since every skill can be used and leveled rather easily, and fast, it takes away from really making any kind of a difference. Not being held to one'schoice of race takes away from anything that lends to role playing. Note, the game mentions classes, but the choices are not held to any classes for the PC. Interestingly, classes are held to the NPCs in the game.

I figured it out. I rebound the perspective key from F to Z, so it changed the favorites key, too.
