Just want to give a little praise

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:38 pm

I know the game isn't out yet, but I've been keeping up with most of the interviews and previews, and I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed by the thoughtfulness and detail that has gone into FO:NV so far. From hardcoe mode, to having the option to play with all the goofy pop-culture references, this might be the most customizable console RPG ever.

Just want to give the devs a little praise into the homestretch. Thanks for paying attention to the details. It's those little things like different ammo types, being able to re-load bullets (if only I needed to manually load magazines too!), and cooking food at campfires (hopefully they draw baddies at night if not in a strategic spot), that really draw you into a game. Hope I'm not disappointed!

Oh, another thank you thread.

Thanks for... Felicia Day.

Seriously I have no idea how the reputation system is gonna work, how SPECIAL is, how the companions truly are or how the story, lore and dialogue is written so...
What's there to thank for?
For all we know the reputation system/factions/dialogue/weapon mods/companions/SPECIAL/perks/traits/VATS/etc could be crap.
Can't thank them in advance for stuff that could end up being a fail.
Thanks for making it sound more complex I guess.

Thanks Bethesda for letting the Obsidian create a fallout game.
Now you learn from your mistakes in fallout 3 (Broken Steel, sponge enemies, green tint everywhere, towns not having any working economy or production going on, etc.) and look at what people will like about Vegas after it's released and try to work it all in to Fallout 4 to try and make it the best fallout game evah! :D

What we've seen is all right I guess, what we've heard is even better, but like gabriel said, we don't know how the RPG elements and everything else we haven't had much information about is going to work out.

I have to admit, it all looks juicy so far, but I guess for many of us the "proof" of how well this game is going to be over the predecessors and the competition will come on 10/19, and I say bring it like it's already been brought-ed!!! (sic) ;)

Still, I do want to thank all the Obsidian developers for occasionally stopping by and answering our many questions without hugely spoiling the parts of the game you want to remain "hidden".

Back in the FO3 days it was usually just Gstaff giving us the "official word", but nowadays we have J.E. and Jason (among others) checking in almost as much as some of the regulars, so yes, thank you for that!!! :foodndrink:

Yeah I understand I haven't played the game yet and it may all turn out to be hype, but Obsidian seems to have taken the best from the PC mod community, plus ideas they have been thinking about for a while, and made a complex, livable world. I commend them for having the guts to make an RPG more complex instead of following the console rpg trend of designing for the lowest common denominator.

I just happy that there is gonna be another Fallout game so soon. Tough to be an Elder Scrolls fan these days, am I right?

It's tough if you are JUST an ES fan and never took a liking to the Fallout series, but I so happen to like both, so I'll be in heaven on 10/19 and I'm looking forward to any news regarding TESV when they finally decide to make an announcement.

Plus there's some other great stuff coming from Bethesda, I'm especially looking forward to Brink and Rage, not that I'm in any rush since I'll probably spend a good 500 hours or so on FONV and that's before any of the DLCs come out... :)

I would like to thank Bethesda for letting Obsidian have a crack at it.

While I think Fallout 3 was a fun game, I had a number of reservations about it. It was just missing too many of the things I enjoyed about the original games.

So, I would also like to thank Obsidian for bringing back some of those things. I really hope that modern gamers who never played the originals can embrace the "new" changes.
