Kajit thief on master and dragons

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 11:13 am

How do i kill them ? dragons i mean, and similar oponents. I have a Breton archer, Orc sword/board warrior and now the Kajit thief on master. Even without hardly any crafting skills the Breton and Orc are cruising through the game but the poor cat dont fare as well against some enemies due to sneaking being taken out of the equation. Am i forced to train archery ?

Thanks for any help or tips provided.

Archery or illusion, for casting invisibility.

I play as assassin and Archery is real necessary.

They key to playing a thief or assassin is knowing how to use your terrain to your advantage. For example I never take on a Dragon solo, I look for a village or bandit camp, someplace with people in it and pull the dragon there. Once there he will focus on the others and let me take him down from relative safety.

You also really do need to take seem archery. This can help a ton as you can use arrows not just as weapons but also distractions to get your enemies to look the other way.

yup, but you really don't need any archery skill what so ever to just use the arrows as a distraction, i already do that on all my chars wether they have archery or not. As far as using terrain to my advantage i do that already as well, first thing before engaging a dragon is finding suitable cover, prefarably a tree or pillar or someting you can move completly around to negate any breath attacks against you. To use npc's to take dragons down though feels cheap, while it works its not really you that kill the dragon, hell most of the time you dont even have to take a swing at it. I'd like to be able to do it myself, even if it means training archery.

Im just gonna pick up archery as well. Thanks for advices all <3 !!

Could use some suggestion on how to build my thief character. Is stamina important? I'm also not sure about what fighting style to approach. I'd like to do the sneaky surprise attacks, but from my other characters and what I've seen with them, I think there are situations where pure stealth will not be very helpful, especially when it comes to boss encounters including minions. (Maybe even without.)

I'm trying to go for dual daggers right now. Any spells I should look out for? What would you consider a good magicka/health/stamina ratio?

You could just not start the main quest so that dragons will not spawn.

No i would say go health and nothing else. If you don't mind giving yourself an early advantage get the dark brotherhood armor, it's very nice, and will make your life so much easier. Dont spread yourself too thin skills wise, if you level up fast then so does your enemies. If you do like the sneaky approach then obviously you need to level stealth more then anything. Best way of doing that is successful sneak attacks, as you get a stealth gain virtually every time you sneak attack (at low'ish level).

I finally gave in and picked up archery to use when there just is no way to make use of your sneak attack. Good archery perks are powershot and ranger, as they make you almost invincible, though quick draw is excellent too. As for your 1h skill, so far i just put points into armsman (is that the right name?) and leveled the skill for high base damage. The X30 multiplier takes case of rest (with the shrouded gloves from DB set)

Im level 25ish now on master with my Kajit and have not encountered anything too difficult, after i picked up archery as suppliment to daggers. Hope it helps a little.

You don't need much archery if you use alchemy. Poisons can do insane amounts of damage. They can do over 300 damage over 10 seconds or do almost 200 damage per hit if you use Crimson Nirnroots. On adept difficulty you can one-shot a low level dragon with an unenchanted hunting bow/iron arrow with under 40 smithing/archery if you have high enough alchemy. On top of that, weakness poisons stack so dual wielding these poisons can quickly put out astronomical damage if you need it for some reason. But I guess the power of the crafting skills isn't really a secret to anyone anymore...
