There is indeed! Female players have the option of marrying male NPCs in game. In fact, I believe there are 32 possible male suitors and only 28 possible female suitors. Consider yourself lucky! You have more options!

You mean can females marry male NPCs? Anyone can marry anyone (as long as they are available)

My female character married another female - the sister of the proprietor of the Riverwood general store, IIRC. Well, I should say, tried to marry her - she never showed up for the ceremony, some sort of bug I presume.
