Keeping Companions Alive

Is it possible to tell your non human companions to run away? Sometimes I'd rather not waste ammo on fighting or fight something too strong but my robot companion just shoots everything.

Tell them not to shoot unless you engage in combat.

Companions are essential NPC's in regular mode. So they cant die. They can however be knocked unconscious, but they wake up when combat is over.

But in hardcoe mode, they can die...so expect it. :intergalactic:

In hardcoe mode, do you need to give your companions food/water aswell?
That'd be a neat mechanic.
