Keyoard won't work

So I got New Vegas and the game worked fine for the first couple days, however earlier tonight my PC crashed and when I started New Vegas an hour or so later I couldn't do anything because the keyboard wasn't working properly. I could press any button on the keyboard and the only result was the game acting like I'd pressed one of the number keys (i.e. quickswapping my weapon). I have a Lenovo laptop and I know for certain that numlock isn't on so that's not the issue. Can anyone help me?

A) No, I didn't. My keyboard works fine in everything else and
B) I retract my question. After fiddling with the damn thing for an hour or so I seem to have fixed. I have no idea what I did but it seems to be working, at least for the moment. If I run into the same problem I'll come back here.
