Khajiit accents

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 4:39 pm

I've always wondered what type of accents the Khajiits had. Is it meant to be an Arab accent? or Russian? I could never tell.

They have their own unique accent. I like it,it suits them, but it isn't so overpowering that its laughable.

Prolly s'posed to be like an Arabian accent, considering they are from the desert.

I agree, the Khajiit accents are really amazing. Not only unique in Tamriel, but unlike any accent I've heard before.

The accent also seems to be consistant across 3 games (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim)... +1 to that.

Sadly the same can't be said for the Argonians (they sound much more intelligent and civilized in Skyrim)

I always assumed they were trying to characterize the Khajiit as stereotypical roma characters; social outcasts, caravans, thieves and eastern accents...

Redguards are the arabs of Elder Scrolls. The Khajiit are entirely unique and the only accent we can name for them is "it sounds funny".

I may be off the mark here, but I think Redguards can look like arabians at the same time that khajiits sound like arabians. =3

My first thought was arabic accent, but if the Redguards are supposedly TES's "arabs" than perhaps Bethesda wanted to give the Khajiit a beast-like accent, so that it won't ruin the immersion?

Yeah.. I think I like having Kharjo or J'zargo around, just for the accent alone. But it helps that they're among the best followers too.

The khajiit voice in Skyrim is so much better than in Oblivion. After Morrowind, it felt like the race took a step back in both appearance and sound with their decidedly camel-headed appearance and shared voice with argonians. Major props to Bethesda for making them so awesome in Skyrim. :)

Totally. It's getting old and a bit too exploited in various games (Zevran, anyone?) and movies, but still adorable and irresistible *sigh*

"Gypsies" is defamatory and degrading...

I'm sure the voice actor is the same as the one who voiced Fernando from Vice City's radio station Emotion 98.3.
