khajiit cannot marry.

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 5:51 am

I know that there are no khajiit that you can marry but I'm playing as a khajiit female and for some reason I can't seem to bring up marriage at all. Maramal at the shrine of Mara doesn't have a marriage topic so I may have already talked with him about it. However, after procuring the mammoth tusk for Ysolda she will not discuss anything but her stupid khajiit traders! Has anyone else had problems getting married?

Edit: I am wearing the amulet of Mara.

Maybe you should just talk with Maramal again about all the topics that he has got available. It's not as if you could jump at him when you first meet him and ask him: "hey, dude, I've never heard of Mara before, but I know that I could have a marriage here, right?"

Did you find the Amulet of Mara in a dungeon? because if so that won't work. you have to buy one from the guy in Riften.

Wearing the amulet won't help if you haven't talked to the Priest about marriage yet.

You can also check the bugs here: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Maramal

EDIT: Just a note to the post above, I have also used Mara Amulets I have found before. I believe any Mara Amulet will work.

It's weird, I got married with my orc and my breton but my khajiit just wont get the prompts I need. Maybe I got drunk one night and got married and forgot. My poor wife is just sitting in her house wondering why I never stop by.

You do remember you need to befriend the person first before marriage becomes an option

I've talked that freak's ear off, he just keeps spouting the same old usless stuff.

Yeah. I always marry Ysolda (with my other playthroughs) 'cause I think shes cute, and her befriending involves giving her a Mammoth Tusk. I've done that and she still will not... :(

I think it might be because I'm a khajiit. Have anyother khajiits had problems with marriage?

I always have to check inventory and drop/delete all Amulets of Mara I have or that priest doesn't give me an option. After that priest has an option to buy new amulet (must buy from priest) and then things start to work as advertised.

Maybe its a bug, but delete all Amulets of Mara before you talk to priest.

That's quite a good line. They could add it to M'aiq's collection, although it doesn't refer to anything in the TES history.
