Khajiit unarmed theif is AWESOME! (SPOILERS?)

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 11:33 am

This being my third character, i chose my least favorite role, the theif. i remember someone telling me how Khajiit get +15 unarmed and thought, "hey! wouldn't be cool with I was a mugger. a real life thug who only uses his fists!" well, anyone who's witnessed an unarmed finishing move (and they happen often) can tell you they are the coolest by far!

BUT Hey, unarmed isn't a skill, so it has limitations!

yes and no!

In Riften, in the sewers leading to the theives guild, there is a man with gloves improving unarmed attacks. You can disenchant them.

also one heavy armor perk, transfers your guantlet armor rating to unarmed attack.

I will not lie. This is not a "save the world from the dragons" class, but it is incredibly entertaining joining the theives guild/ dark brotherhood, and cracking armed guards heads open with your bare fists.

i felt smart making this class, so... enjoy?

I made an unarmed khajiit some time ago too, mine is a noble monk (in heavy armor) though. But indeed fist fighting is awesome, using heavy armor enchanting restoration and smithing (not using +smithing enchants) and it might be my strongest character yet.

Or, open the console, type player.forceav unarmeddamage 135 and you have the same damage as an upgraded daedric sword.

Plus, you can also add the claws ability to any character via the console, meaning that even if you're unwilling to 'cheat' to make unarmed viable, you can at least stop yourself having to play a khajiit just to get decent damage.

Why cheat like a little child?

Get over it.

Get over yourself. It's not being a child to make something viable in-game, or change racial perks around to suit your playstyle without being limited to playing as a cat.

Success-rate on consoles is 0,00%.

Taking this perk and becoming a tri-crafter actually makes unarmed do a surprising amount of damage. You can make it almost adventuring-worthy, even on Master difficulty.

Aye it is.

I'm also enjoying a Khajiit Thug-like character at the moment. I ended up picking Khajiit mostly because the typical Khajiit "roadside robbers" that tries to extort money from you. Seems Bethesda enjoys putting Khajiit into this role.

I ended up noticing that indeed Khajiit make superb hand-to-hand fighters. Pitty the game offers very few opportunities to actually engage in extortion and bar brawls. I'll probably look for or cook up a mod that allows a bit more of this type of roleplaying. For the moment I get a mild kick out of a sprint tap that brushes past NPCs as if I just shoulder pushed them aside. :P

But seriously though... I think a Thug/Lowlife/Bar Dweler lifestyle mod is in order as soon as the CK is out with lots of goodies such as:
- Starting and/or getting invovolved in bar brawls and epotentially ending up in jail
- The ability to use dialogue options to extort money/valuables from NPCs that also use speechcraft to increase success rate and perhaps make the NPC too afraid to report on you, while also allowing for a fist fight if dialogue/speechcraft fails
- Drugs and Alcohol man... Drugs and Alcohol... and it's effects of course, like blurred vision and stat modificiation as well as an addiction system.
- Implied six with bar wenches a la Fallout 3

The game is not too bad allowing you to become this cat burglar, but it really lacks some options for the not-so-subtle style of street level crime.
Thieves Guild Spoiler
Spoiler
I would enjoy alot more tasks like the one you get to talk to the 3 people that owe the thieves guild some money right before you get full admitance to the guild.

Lol.

Khajit: *shoulder push*

Bar Patron: "Watch where you're going, jerk!"

Khajit: "Come at me, bro!"

I actually did this one one of my thief builds as well, however.

As I was a theif I assumed that the stealth attacks would also upgrade with hand to hand. They don't. You are stuck with just 2x damage for sneak attacks with hands. Ultimately that was why I scrapped the build. Maybe another time I will try an unarmed warrior, but didn't work out so well for the sneak backstabbing type.

So you don't think that make unarmed combat as strong as a Daedric sword is cheating like a child?
