Khajiit Wife (or Husband)

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 3:09 pm

I've been playing a noble Khajiit archer. You know, he uses Heavy Armour and a Crossbow, and plays the Dawnguard and Companions questlines. In any case, I've nearly finished his Morthal house and I've been wanting to add more things to it. Namely, a wife and some kids. But it all feels so wrong. And so I REALLY hope Bethesda add some variety for Khajiit's. Give us a female Khajiit to marry and heck, change Kharjo into a marriable character.

They could add more kitty-cats with the caravans, but I doubt it will happen.

my female Khajitt would love to marry a male Khajitt. Instead she's stuck with elves, Orcs or humans. No chance of offspring.

Agree 100%! I looked all over for a marriage-able Khajiit or Bosmer for my characters to marry, only to be sadly disappointed.

I gave up on this happening. It seems like they just don't want to do this. I'd like a third Khajiit follower, though, so there can be four Khajiits in the Blades, including my character.

there is a male Khajiit in one of the Caravans that has you retreive a necklace, although i havent tried im sure you could marry him after the quest. As for a female Khajiit im not to sure, and yes even though i am a Nord i think they should add diffrent varietys of children.....what are they trying to get at?!?! Nords are bad parents?!

Plus the J'zargo's at the college of winterhold. You can marry the Nord and Dunmer appretence but not. I think the real issue is voice acting. Khajiit's have a unique way of speaking third person. They can and do reuse marriage for other NPC's. If two NPC's have the same voice actor they also have the same marriage dialog. But they can't do that with Khajiit as they speak in third person so they'd be unable to share audio files.

Also they have Redguard, Breton and Imperial Children you just can't tell the difference.

I agree totally

I seems crazy that they left out Khajiit for a marriage candidate (except for Ysolda in Whiterun who seems to have a thing for Khajiits). Lets be honest, how many Khajiit players would want to marry a human or an elf. I'm sure the thought to most is either daft or sick.

I'm sure they could've sneaked a Khajiit bride & groom into one of the Khajiit caravans. It would have been ideal.

And if they had made the population too diverse, then everyone who actually reads the lore books would be complaining.

It wouldn't exactly be against the lore for at least 1 marriable Khajiit to be in-game.

Definite, I tried with the options avaiable but it was just silly.
And the lore already goes shot for Kahjit players able to just wander into towns (and able to buy houses and become thanes.)
Slowly Bethesda heaps more and more reasons up for me why I am loosing interest with Elderscrolls, with Xbox the new cool kid on the block and limiting roleplay options in DLC costing good money.

Read the post I quoted. Then read my response as if it were only directed at that poster.

I know, I know, I was just trying to make my point. I agree with you; it is Skyrim, and there are meant to be loads of Nords, but I do want a marriable Khajiit.

I guess it was too much to hire a VA to do non-human child voices, or to get the current child VA's to switch it up for a Elven, Khajit, or Argonian inflection.

I was hoping that I could suggest a simple (but high quality) pitch shifting could alleviate the problem... so, same VA's, but some effect in post. I have very good software, and still, it does sound quite artificial (IMO). Example:

Normal:

Shifted to child range:
http://home.comcast.net/~bcoutu/femkhajiit2.mp3

Oh well. Maybe someday. Maybe that will be another small DLC they throw out in the future - like a 'beast orphanage' in Solitude or something. But I'd just be happy with a khajiit female to marry!

All Khajiit don't marry? That's like saying all Middle Eastern people are Muslim. People of the same race can have different beliefs. Unfortunately Bethesda doesn't believe so.

Here are some Khajiit marriage mods that are out there.

i'd say it has to do with needing to re-hire va actors if i had to guess, and it might take a little work for them to whip up a few kat-children (althogh hearthfire would have been the perfect time to do that, since that was about half the point of it)

For a story reason...maybe its because the khajiit are mainly caravanners and plan on leaving skyrim when the war ends, or their marriage traditions are a little more elaborate than looking for the most attractive person with an amulet of mara on

No. She'd be able to have a child with an Altmer and offend them because the child would end up being a Khajiit since the mother was a Khajiit.

Well, I believe the isolation we all [non-nords] feel is appropriate, and the fact that Bethesda is articulating such isolation through a family theme is very original in an RP videogame. I really feel as though I am a foreigner and am homesick, even though I have no idea what my home is besides it being a different province.

The rules against entering cities is just for the caravans, they compete with the merchants in the city and has an connection with the thief guild.
Remember the Khajiit lady who attacks you in Riften during the main quest she to had no problems entering in the city.

I would expect an assassine to sneak into a city anyways, and if you remember the queste where you help the bosmer escape the Kahjiit asassine waits outside the city, so another oddity no?
Back to topic having npcs for marriage out of the caravanes (Khajiit) would make sense and not break lore in any way.(given your house is out of an city anyway)
With the 30 days xbox firstm no Khajiit marriage/children and that i can build my own home as an mod I do not see the point to throw money at Bhetesda anyways, the attempt to nudge me to buy an console is a little bit to blatand for my taste.
