Kickstarter [Grim Dawn]

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 9:44 am

Hey guys! Well it finally has happened. If you've ever heard of Titan Quest and or Iron Lore you may have known about Grim Dawn. Crate Entertainment has been working on their new ARPG since 2009. I purchased an early key from them about a year ago in hopes to support them, and overall they have made a lot of progress. However they are reaching out to ask the community on kickstarter for more. If you'll notice they simply state the game will come out its just a matter of "when" with kickstarter funds they have the ability to hire a couple more people and push it out sooner! Hopefully these guys turn into a Wasteland 2 because honestly there are not enough "good" ARPG's out there.

With Diablo 3, Torchlight 2, Path of Exile do we really need another "loot" based game? Absolutely these guys have been straight forward with their community. Because they are indie developers they come on to the forums interact with the community daily! They let some of the choices even fall into our hands. If any kickstarter needs your support its certainly these guys. Hopefully some of you guys will look into it and support this awesome dev team!

Doesn't look that appealing to me.

Also, your text makes my eyes bleed.

Completely understand if it doesn't interest you. However how exactly does my text make your eyes bleed? Simply because if that's the case I'd love to fix it.

My guess is because it's white.

FYI, I have the same problem...I use the Elegant IP Board theme, which is dark text on a white background. For me, your text is completely invisible. Please just use the default text color options for whatever board theme you're using; for those of us using the different/optional board themes, it will convert automatically. Otherwise, if you force a different color (like white), it just becomes unreadable.

Your OP is in bright white, my background is the black one, so the searing white is somewhat snowblinding.

Lol, now it's all black. I use the default text/forum background, that grayish text.

Why don't we just have a "Kickstarter" thread, it would make things a lot easier

Ahah well call me [censored]. I forgot I copy pasted this from giant bomb forums! Ugh that makes sense now hopefully all is fixed!

I have no issue with that I can transform this into a kickstarter in general thread. I'v honestly never really pledged to anything but these guys as most of the games just have concept art + hey we want to make it this kind of concept.

I'm thinking about donating to it. Titan Quest was simply amazing.

Besides torchlight which came later down the road. I think Titan Quest was just such a good "clone." The fact these guys have been working on this game just what 2 or so of them off of their life savings and a few contributions by the forum community is pretty passionate. I'm just looking to get the word out there :).

I could never get into the aged and archaic Diablo 2. Titan Quest ended up being my first game in that style that I finished. So far my only one as well.

I've been waiting for Grim Dawn for what feels like eons, largely based on the fact that I enjoyed Titan Quest quite a bit.

I hope their Kickstarter is fruitful for them....I'd definitely love to see it completed in...um...my lifetime. :P heheh

I'll pledge after payroll. Titan Quest is great, hope there are more innovative concept from this new title. Even though it's ARPG, don't streamline it, complications and variety is what I really hunger for.

Checked the video out. I'm interested, but not enough to pledge.

Not really, these are all different games. It's like putting all beth games in one thread.

Not to mention there would be so many things to cover.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing the final product. The only reason I donated was because they have a lot done so far. I'm skeptical of a lot of Kickstarter projects but this one seems legit.

That's actually how I am. Some times I see projects I may like on kickstarter but I don't really feel comfortable with pledging as much as i'd like to support it. Crate was my first and will most likely be my last pledge.

Pledged. I've known about this game for a long time, and it'd be a damn shame for it not to be finished and released because of financial issues.

I've only pledged to Order of the Stick reprint drive, and Grim Dawn. This is likely to be my last though.

Unless something completely blows my mind. That's how I'm approaching it as well.

Yeah...I love/appreciate the concept/idea behind Kickstarter but I still have a difficult time "pledging" - ie, investing. I'm much more of a buy to support than an invest to fund person. It's never going to be more than a few a year for me at most. Still...glad it exists.

Also happy to see Grim Dawn is more than 1/3 of the way there already.
