To Kill an Empire

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 6:09 am

My character is a Thalmor-hating Nord who joined the Empire as I felt their policies are better than those of the Stormcloaks.

Now that I'm done with the Civil War questline, with the Stormcloaks reduced to roving, splintered groups, I think The Empire is ready to wage war on the Thalmor proper with a unified Skyrim at its back.

My question is: do we know if Titus Mede II intended for the White-Gold Concordat to last forever, or was he planning to repeal it once the Empire regained its strength? Is he really a spineless ruler? The WGC made sense to me at the time of its inception because of the weakened state of the Empire after the Great War, but now it's fairly useless.

If I do the DB questline, I want to make sure that breaking my oath as a Legate and assassinating the Emperor is worth it and justified.

What do you guys think about Titus Mede II?

Titus Mede's motivations are uknown

However it is speculated by many he wants the WGC to end and He wants to die. Tullius even mentions The Empire is planning something agasint the empire if you bug him after the civil War is done.

His reputation is to trashed for him to get The empire into gear and he knows he needs someone to replace him.

My Thalmor character is going to side with the Stormcloaks. Only because this will make the empire more pathetic than what they are now in the eys of the Aldemeri Dominion.

This also makes it a lot easier to justify the killing of the Emperor.

i dont understand. If we join the imperials and drive out the stormcloaks, even if skyrim is unified and the empire is ready to attack those goddam elves, tidus mede 2 is still assassinated by the Dark brotherhood. And from the lore, the emperor has to die. So...who will lead the attack? Does he have a son :(?

I'm pretty sure there will be another war.

That's what Ancano says in fact. He points out that while the Thalmor allegedly does not want war there will be one and it's going to be far bloodier than the previous one.
I'm sensing TES VI plot here.
