Kill Well and Often! A Dark Brotherhood Themepack

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 7:56 am

I've always been fond of the most ancient and elite group of assassins still in existence, The Dark Brotherhood. So to honor them I have created a Dark Brotherhood Theme Pack for Windows 7 users. I will also provide a link to the files used to create the theme pack for anyone interested. The unpacked files can also be used by people not running Windows 7 to put it together on their own, if they wish.

The Wallpapers are in 1920x1080 high-definition resolution and feature actual gameplay images and select screenshots from the official Elder Scrolls website. The Icons provided are 128x128 pixels for a sharp clean look and include the "Friends Like These" Steam achievement icon, the "Hail Sithis" Steam achievement icon, The Dark Brotherhood hand on parchment, and two versions of the sanctuary door skull for the recycle bin when full and empty. The Cursors are designed to mach the cursors seen in the game. The sounds come in .WAV format and are all sound effects from the game itself including the Falkreath Sanctuary door riddles! Enjoy my Brothers and Sister! Kill well and often!

This Theme pack contains:

11 High-Definition Wallpapers
5 Unique Skyrim Icons
15 Custom Skyrim Cursors
13 Custom Skyrim Sounds

Tip: If the cursors are not showing up, try downloading and extracting the .RAR file and placing the cursors in C:\Windows\Cursors. Then reload the theme.

Edited for the lore people... :P

OK, minor pet peeve with your wording and it's completely pointless. Buuuuuuuuut the dark bronies are not the 'most ancient' group of assassins in Tamriel, they are a splinter group of the Morag Tong...sorry about that, but well...I'm OCD about stuff like that.

I am downloading this pack now, and if I get it working I will give you some actual feedback.

But aren't they the most ancient group of assassins considering they are the only ones still existence? The Morag Tong were dissolved after the eruption of the Red Mountain.

Still, they are not the oldest that are.
Kind of cool pack, but not my style. I prefer a rather plain WIndows 7.

If you download the themepack file you should be able to just click the file and run it like any other application. It will automatically install the theme.

To make adjustments to it just right click anywhere on the desktop and select "Personalize". All the theme options will be in there.

I'm totally not convinced of that.
I'm 100% certain that the Morag Tong have just "gone underground"...
I'm also 100% sure that the great houses will return eventually. Especially Great House Telvanni. Someone has to get revenge against those damned Argonians, surely?

They did make a pact to reunite some time in the future but as far as I have found there is no indication that they have done so thus far. However with the Dunmer fleeing to Skyrim after Morrowind became all but uninhabitable it is possible that they could reemerge in Skyrim.

Originally I guess it was just semantics. If some one were to ask you what the most ancient animal on Earth is you might say the dinosaurs or something like that and others might say the tortoise or crocodile. Dinosaurs are more ancient but the tortoise or crocodile are the most ancient which still live.

Either way, light lore discussions are always fun :)

So far as I'm aware, when it comes to Elder Scrolls lore.... a lot of it comes from what characters say in-game... or what is written in in-game books... and all of that is subject to the "unreliable narrator" factor. i.e. Just because they're saying it doesn't mean they're right. While that doesn't mean I'm going to discount swathes of what is now taken as established history... minor tweaks in interpretation aren't unjustifiable.

I wouldn't say "dinosaurs" as I've got a Palaeobiology degree. I know better. The answer would probably be some sort of undifferentiated eukaryotic cell somewhere... though where precisely you want to start drawing the "animal" line is honestly up to you. Even the coelacanth easily trumps both the dinosaurs and the tortoises / crocodiles.

Generally agree.
Though some aren't.

Telvanni? They are nothing more then slave-trading skooma addicts with some basic magic skills.
Great house Redoran is that you should count on.
Another glorious day in house Redoran!

Oh please... a bunch of self-absorbed fascist knights in bonemeal armour, all the while yearning to be more like House Indoril.
House Telvanni reached levels the likes of which the Imperial Mages Guild and the Winterhold College could only dream of. It is only right that other races should get to serve as lessers. Might actually learn something that way.

Lets not let this degrade into a lore argument. I just wanted to know if anyone is using the theme pack and enjoying it. >.< As for the dinosaur/crock thing...it was just a loose example. ;)

I didn't say you weren't joking around but I've seen a thousand flame wars start in just the same way. I did say lets not let this degrade into a flame war in an attempt to nip a potential one in the proverbial bud. This is not really the forum for this sort of subject anyhow.
