I killed that one female Thalmor leader from Mainquest.

Post » Mon Oct 08, 2012 1:44 am

During the mainquest, you do meet a female Altmer who is like high up in the leadership of the Thalmor within Skyrim, or something like that... You go to her party during the mainquest.. Well.. I decided to break inside via the glitch (This is on an old character of mine that was made on 1.0 Skyrim so the fix for this place isn't in effect for him)..

I killed the Thalmor warriors inside the fence and saw the ones outside entering the front door.. I thought about meeting them inside so I went inside... And I found her walking about so I tried talking to her but she only said some annoying bullcrap about the Thalmor, like always... I decided to start beating her up, thinking she would still be a quest-NPC, but instead of going down onto her knees... She died! This made me happy cause she was one of those NPCs I truly hated in the mainquest..

Dawnguard Spoiler, sorry.

Spoiler
After killing her, I decided to enter the dungeons of Castle Volkihar so I can get both Derkeethus and Serana following me. Then I went back to where the Thalmor woman's dead body is and... The tea bagging has been TRIPLED! Huzzah!

I think there are quite a few of us who has gone back to the embassy and killed Elenwen after she loses her essential tag. :D

I used a horse to jump the fence, but with the whole whirlwind sprint shout you can go via Reeking Cave.

~Edit~

Also, I had my follower unlock the doors that requires keys and manage to kill the Khajiit cook and beat up the drunk dude in the party room (He is essential and idky he is still there).

At some point after Diplomatic Immunity and/or Season Unending. I'm not sure exactly when.

Doesn't that Thalmor hating gets boring?
They are just poorly represented ingame. They have near to zero depth and charisma, but lorewise they should be quite sinister and dangerous.
I do not want them to reach their goals, but I like them as villains with style.
They just need some more content that does not portray them as the most evil force in the multiverse... a bit grey to mix up the black... you know...

Don't disrespect your superiors.

I do not obey, nor recognized, a Government which believes they are superior over me.. Instead, I'll slaughter them!

They want to create heaven out of earth through genozide.
Their methods are dead wrong, their attitude svcks, but their goal is - to some extend - a good one.
Every spirit would be set free in their opinion, even the humans who betrayed their heritage (in their eyes) and became the railings of the material prison.
Just TRY to see through their screwed up behavour and their superficial representation in Skyrim. The have some reasons for the things they do and I can sympathize with their goals to a degree... and that's making them potentially very cool villains.

Why do you think I like them so much as villains?

Eh...? I think you don't appreciate them as cool villains and just join the "Bash All Thalmor" party going on since Skyrims release.
To love/hate a good villain is one thing, to just bash them is another.

Please, do not take it as an offence. I am just a bit sick of Thalmor bashing threads and comments etc. etc. ^^

Yeh. I understand. I always love a good villain; it really makes them more interesting and fun to fight in games... (Or just very interesting if it is a TV Show/Cartoon)...

I kinda do 'bash', I guess.. I mean, they really did tick me off on some of things they do and I really want to kill them all BUT that is also why I love them a lot. They are smart and great at what they do and I can understand their views as well.

I am happy to hear that.

Sorry, I actually did not want to bust the party, but sometimes the "hey, I found out how to humiliate that fictional faction even more" and all the "cool, I must try that out!" stuff tick me a bit off.
Bethesda did a poor job in implement a lorewise great villain. Now too many people are just hating the Thalmor without even questioning why they are doing what they are doing.

Maybe I am just sick of that: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ScrewYouElves
Really, that whole trope seems like human hybris at its best. We can not even accept that there is a wiser, better race then us and then starts the bashing... of course the Thalmor are NOT superior and TES elves are no Lord of the Ring elves, but I always feel its some kind of meta revenge carried out against the pure thought of a more advanced civilisation then ours.
In fact, not the fictional Elves or Protoss or Vorlons are the arrogant fools, the joke is on us.

Well you know what they say, if you can't beat em.....

I also get tired of seeing a post nearly every day or so which is based entirely around the idea of killing or destroying the Thalmor:

"Hey wouldn't it be great to have a DLC where we kill more Thalmor!"

"Hey don'tcha just love that quest where you kill Thalmor!"

"Hey kill Thalmor!"

"Thalmor. Me. kill."

Okay. Got it. You guys don't like the Thalmor. Woo freaking hoo.

I also dislike when people refer to how they just "Love to hate" the Thalmor and how that makes them a good villain. Newsflash: No it doesn't, the Thalmor are a terribly written group.

I think if we take MKs suggestions into account the Thalmor become an awesome villain.
But if we just take what we are presented ingame? Hm... the books about the Thalmor are relatively nice, but the actual Thalmor ingame?
Terrible... just terrible. It's too easy to hate them.
It is almost impossible to do anything else then hate them.
Trust me, I TRIED. :D
I hope Bethesda does not just try to serve the general "Screw the Elves" attitude virulent in High Fantasy these days.
