Post » Tue May 22, 2012 10:57 pm

Does anyone else have the problem where the courier does not appear after your wife/husband is killed.
I've waited well over 300 hours but still nothing.
and for us to even have a chance of re-marriage the courier HAVE to appear, right ?
Appreciate if this could be fixed in the next update.

I take it that your spouse wasn't a traveling companion.

Are you sure you aren't waiting for him when he is actually NOT suppose to show up. I wouldn't know about this problem because apparently even in skyrim, i am getting rejected by the women :/. (They won't except my friggin amulet of mara!!!!!)

Everything I read online said you have one shot at marriage in Skyrim and if you kill your spouse, she ain't coming back (nor would any other woman want to marry you, if you think about it. lol).

You can write a nice country song in her memory though.

A courier has nothing to do with marriage.
Approach an eligible NPC.
You usually have to perform a quest or favor for the NPC.
Find or buy an Amulet Of Mara.
Equip the amulet
Ask If the NPC is interested.
If they are interested in marriage, the NPC will ask if you are interested.
Travel to the temple in Riften.
Get married.
Pretty simple...But, I don't know if can do that more than once, because I go to a lot of trouble to keep my wife/follower ALIVE.

I think that i haven't found one yet is a glitch. They have a script in which if you have an amulet of mara in your inventory, they will give you the option to give it to them. But this option won't show up for me when i talk to them (even with the amulet). As a result i have pretty much been killing every female candidate out of pure frustration, so it might be too late anyways (as i doubt there is anyone left to marry). Well, i shall be single even on skyrim, no trophy for me :(. Will i ever win?- as said by squidward [spongebob squarepants]

If you read my previous post, you don't give them the amulet, you equip it...You also need to do them a favor, before the dialog will show up. There is no "glitch". You are doing it wrong.....

Holy [censored], you equip it? Thanks for the info dude. I think it might be too late though i killed pretty much every female in skyrim with the exception of the undyable ones because of this.

Yes, this is how you get married. Obviously the OP knew this since he was already married once, yes?
Are you saying you can simply get married again the same way after your spouse dies?
Everything I've heard says this is impossible. JameMB, would you care to elaborate a little?
Have you been successful at getting married a second time?

LOL Dude, it's in the APPAREL section of your inventory! That should have been your first clue!!! (still LOL...sorry...but that's almost as bad as me telling Mjoll to wait and not realizing she wasn't with me until 3 fast-travels later, then I couldn't remember where the hell I left her...took me over an hour to find her again).

Lol, i was going by the videos on youtube that i have seen on marriage and i didn't really see any of them actually equip the amulet. but yeah, i shoulda been a little bit more scrutinizing, lol. Did you tell mjoll to wait in the middle of nowhere? if you did, how did you find her? i did that once to my apprentice and never found him again.

Geez why can't people just accept the first choice, it's not like married life gets interesting no matter what character you marry. I only had 70 hours under my belt but I have stayed married to the same guy for 65 of those hours XD even when I thought Farkas was wayyyy hotter

Yeah, I wasn't really near a Fast Travel point when I told her to wait. Had to completely retrace my steps in order to find her. There she was, shivering in a blizzard, waiting rather impatiently for my return so she could finish telling me the story about her adventuring days.

Interesting. Whenever I forget were I left my "companion" they just get impatient, and return to their home...
