killing npcs

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 3:42 am

Is there any chance we can get a patch or some free dlc that makes it possible to kill all the npcs? That is the most annoying thing for me with this game the fact that I keep running into people who can't die. The feature was in morrowind and it should be here. (and not through mods since that leaves console gamers out to dry)

I sure hope so, unkillable npcs is the worst thing ever. It wasn't so bad in Oblivion, because the unkillable npcs were actually important to quests, so it was understandable, but still annoying. Now in Skyrim EVERYONE is invincible for some reason...

I agree, they should just have them go to one knee, then get a message that killing this person will impact a quest line. Then let you choose if you finish them off or not

I love that idea! I never thought of doing it that way!

Or they just allow me to kill who ever I want, if I screw up some quests then it's my fault! Maybe keep the main quest people immortal, but thats it.

That's wierd. The world is so empty I hate when named NPC characters die. If I find one killed by something and it isn't a scripted death I use the console to resurrect it. It's almost like a ghost town already. I can't imagine wanting to lose any that you absolutely don't have to. I want MORE people.

The only unkillables that annoy me are the commanders of Legion/Stormcloak outposts and kids.

Then again, if they weren't unkillable there would only be about 2 or 3 kids left in Skyrim once my assassin got through with them. About like it would be in reality if kids of that time setting mouthed off as badly.

Of they could just respawn new people with different names.

Essential npc's are a terrible idea. As others have already said, if we as players want to off someone, then so be it. Let us deal with the consequences of our actions, but let us choose. Its svcks the fun right out of it when someone witnesses something and there isn't anything you can do about it because they cannot be silenced. The cow and chicken thing needs to go as well.
