Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:18 am

I was up against a necromancer last night, when I killed the reanimated bandit I could have swore I heard it say thankyou.
Has anybody heard this before or was it just the ale I was drinking :foodndrink:

Makes sense if it happened.

I have not noticed it the few times I have been able to kill a resurrection.

Yes they do say thank you, I've experienced it a few times.
And SmashDown, why would it be weird? You just set him free.

He was dead before he was reanimated.I guess they are thanking you for letting there soul rest for good.

Yes, they do say thank you. I haven't got the full list of stuff that they say, but in addition to that they also say things like "Finally"

Makes sense if it happened.

I think very few people are like me and kill their resurrections once combat ends.

However, in saying that - have you ever been into a necromancers or vampires lair? It quickly becomes a resurrection fest if you aren't careful. In addition to the random corpses that they resurrect to begin with, they also resurrect each other when they die.

I've heard them say thank you when released (killed). Sometimes the AI screws up and they will say something they would if alive. I've had them comment about candle light spells and even my own dead thrall spells. It can be both surreal and stupid.

When I played around with a necromancer character I laughed everytime I heard that groan.
For some reason I found it hilarious.

yes, I'm in one now. I just try to stay hidden and combat the conjuration with more conjuration.

As far as re animated corpses say thank you when you kill them...again, well, you are doing them a favor by doing that so it makes perfect sense for them to say thanks.

Yep, I have heard quite often and it is a nice touch. Little details like this are so important to create a believable world that seems to be alive.

Which is why I always go for the summoners/necromancers first, and ignore the summons. Otherwise I can spend hours standing there killing the same things again and again.

You're not the only one, I do it too. Especially since they're not really the best at sneaking.

I do it too. I found that it helps raise your conjuration skill somehow

I forgot about that, too. I actually used to train my mage's Conjuration (she completely stagnated in it, of all the magic skills) by summoning things and killing them with summoned weapons.
