Anybody else find this mission of the Dark Brotherhood to be a little "too easy"? I think it would have been more fun to at least have a final battle with the Emperor himself.
And why is it that the emperor of Tamriel is in Skyrim? Shouldn't he be in Cyrodiil?

No, they think the major threat is gone, plus I sneaked killed 80% of the people there.
And no, I think the Emperor’s speech sums up why you don’t fight him, that moment where I had to kill him after that speech was hard for me to do, not because of any emotional connection, just cause I saw him for what he was, an old man the only thing special about him was his title

And if you at all paid any attention to the DB questline you would know why he was there

^ This.

The Emperor is there for a very special reason, in fact. Your actions in the other DB quests kind of draw him into the trap. So-to-speak.

A...final battle...with...an old monarch...what?

Is this really what Oblivion has done to us?

He can move around if he feels like it. The president of the US doesn't just stay in the US indefinitely. Do agree that the quest is a little too easy, same goes for pretty much every other guild quest in the game right now.

At first when I got this quest I thought the Emperor would escape or simply wouldn't be at the location when you get there since this is pretty big game changer but was surprised at the fact that we could do something so...big in an Elder Scrolls game. :)

well it certainly should have been handled better. i like his whole mildly apathetic reaction to the whole situation, but that doesnt really fit with the way the DB had been playing out until then. at that point, the assassination was about your last desperate push to get the guild back on its feet, so it should have been properly dramatic and epic. if everything had gone smoothly the whole questline and you suddenly find that your final history-changing mark handles his death LIKE A BOSS and doesnt care to inconvenience both you and him by setting up proper defenses, that would be just as awesome.

but instead, our last contract that will mean a new beginning for the DB is a freakin downer. its like saving up for a month to buy a fancy new pair of shoes, then right before you go to the store you watch a TV special on how the company that makes those shoes employs child slaves bought from the somalian black market. its just a real buzz kill, you know what i mean? they could have at least put commander maro on the boat, relaxing in plain clothing thinking his job is done, just to have him s**t his pants when he sees you alive... that would have been gratifying. oh no, my only reward assassinating the emperor? more useless money and the knowledge that cicero and that annoying vampire brat will infest my new brotherhood while all the cool people died...

That's true. You guys all have valid points. I was just going off of what I saw in the video since I haven't played that part of the game myself. Thanks. :)
