Kinda dissapointed.....

Post » Mon Jan 31, 2011 11:36 am

Well, it only took a few days of play (a little at a time) to finish the game :( I was so stoked when the it finally came out and now I can't figure out what took them so long. It's basically just a big expansion of F3. The guns are dissapointing. By the time I got to the antimatter gun the game is over. And the trogs.....I mean, spore carriers, really? Come on. And what's up with all the glitches? I thought F3 was bad for glitches, but man!

I do like the different factions though and how they recognize you by what your wear :) It just seems like there's not enough to do. Most of the board is empty. I don't mean to piss on anyone's parade, I mean, I still play the heck out of the game and have fun, but I seriously expected a little more that's all. Sorry :/

There's four different main campaigns. Make a new character and start again. Not to mention multiple ways to end most quests. There's also about 163 quests in total in the game. I doubt it only took you a few days to do all of that.

But I mean, hey, if you're disappointed with the game, then you're disappointed with the game. To each their own.

Yay, another disappointment thread. Couldn't you just have posted this in the other complaint thread?
Too bad you were disappointed by it though, try playing another character and go another main faction route and weapon skill.
Might be more fun the second time around.
It is for me. :)

I also just want to do a mini-rant on the "just an expansion" argument. Expansions don't have more content then the original game :[

If you only spent a few days on the game I highly doubt you've seen everything that you can possibly see even in one play through. I've completed over 50 marked quests, and have 18 still unfinished, and I've been playing the game for roughly two weeks.

I do wholeheartedly agree with Expresate. Just by the faction responses, there are multiple endings - which are self-excluding. So, there's no more saving the game outside a certain room, and then getting to see both endings with one character.

About the bugs... Yes, I've had some happen, yes I've had a few hours of play time lost because I had to go back to my last auto-save. But, is it as bad as I have been reading in this forum? I don't think so. This day and age, everyone should understand that when a product (software, but hardware too) comes out, the first time it's on the open market... well, in the old days, that would be called "beta" grade. Now, with everyone expecting instant gratification, there is just not enough time to debug to the level that is required. And, besides, they have expenses too.

Can we merge this thread with the other thread right below it, aptly named... "disappointed."

Hmm?

I, too, find it amazing that people are complaining at the lack of game play. I've played a couple of hours each day since it was released, and I still have plenty to do.

Suggestion: Get the Explorer Perk and go to all the marked locations. Once there, do all the quests that you happen across. That'll keep you plenty busy. Or, look for all of the unique items.

Sure, if you "run" through the main quest, ignoring everything else, you could probably finish quickly. People are forgetting that FO3 was the same way.

Don't get me wrong everyone....I like the game! I guess Bethesda just spoiled me with the first one :) I honestly couldn't say HOW they could build it better.....it's easy for me to sit and complain, ya know?

Wow, let me make this simple. Im not saying I don't like the better parts of FNV. But people keep defending some of the mistakes that were made and I can't understand why.

1) Do you guys like the fact they removed most of the unique crafted weapons?
2) In Fallout 3, they didn't have 5% of the invisible walls like in FNV. Do you like invisible walls?
3) Do you like the lack of underground exploring?
4) Do you think having all of the buildings out in the waist land locked? Ok lets say 80% of them?
5) Is it a bad idea to have Blueprints that you can actually view in inventory to see what materials you need before you go to the bench?
6) Would it be a good idea to use a stove or BBQ as well as a camp fire with no flames?
7) As for a Marked location, should it have more than a dead [censored] brahman?
8) The armor variants from Fallout were awsome. So its a bad idea to have a bunch more armor styles?
9) Places like the Museum's were attempted in FNV, but they were poorly done. Yes I would like more of them to exist.... So for the mojave this is not period or geographically in correct?
10) Since when is it not a major aspect of the Fallout series to have a large exploration facet?
11) Again when is it not a major part to find buildings/vaults and dungeons a major part of this type of RPG?

So that is all I have been saying... If you dont agree on the issues I want to see come back in the next installment, thats cool. I was just giving my opinion of n the game.

But yeah.. on an ending note, it is a fact, this will not compare in replay status compared to FO3. Send me a note and I will make a small side bet with ya if you would like.
Sorry for spaming this post on a couple different topics, but this is my last post and I seem to be getting the same response from the FAN BOY'S

... and I seem to be getting the same response from the :spotted owl:.

That word is actually censored around here. Don't avoid the filter.
Oh and I responded to your post in the other thread. :)
